My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm revisiting OKcupid after a few years, as I haven't had much luck in dating over that span of time. I work in upper management at a grocery store here in town, and the hours are quite demanding. That being said, I am looking to find a nice girl to spend my free time with, who appreciates a guy that treats women with the respect they deserve.

I've lived in Lawrence for most of my life, and worked for the same company since I was 14 (I'm loyal to a fault). When I'm not working, I love to write, record, and listen to music. I've recently been bolstering my vinyl collection with more current indie releases (I'm a Pitchfork music junkie). People say I'm too nice, which I'm not sure whether to take as a compliment or an insult, but I guess since I'm a nice guy, I'll assume the former.

I went to KU for a few years pursuing an English degree, but the more I thought about it, the more I loathed the thought of becoming a 24 year old English teacher. I instead accepted a full time position at my store and started building a career there. I also write and record music, and perform with my band, Blood Relative.

I'm still trying to figure myself out (aren't we all?), and I would like to think I am constantly growing as a person. I would just like to find someone sweet to share that experience with.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Besides continuing to climb the corporate ladder, I am a musician. You can listen to some of my music at http://bloodrelative.bandcamp.com. I've achieved some success, as one of my songs was placed on the Showtime series "Shameless", and ended up making it onto the official series soundtrack (look it up if you think I'm joking).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I play a lot of instruments, and write/record music. I sing all the time. Sometimes I am nice to a fault. I'm a good cook, and would cook for myself every night if I had the time. I also have a wealth of ridiculous sports facts and statistics backlogged in my brain, so if you're ever on a trivia show, I will be your sports lifeline.

I also am a great gift-giver, and I pay attention to the small stuff that you may not even remember telling me.

For whatever reason, I can memorize series of numbers like a champ.

While I didn't graduate from college, I consider myself very intelligent, and I can certainly hold my own in an intellectual conversation.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My singing. I am not shy about belting out songs on the soundtrack at work, singing in the car, or pretty much anywhere. If you can harmonize with me, I'll probably fall for you.

Either my singing, or my helpful smile. Or my willingness to go out of my way to make things easier for someone else.

I really like movies that take me outside my comfort zone. Dark comedies, foreign films, and independents. I am obsessed with music and love going to shows. Recently I've been listening to the new Father John Misty, Hudson Mohawke, and revisiting the latest from Future Islands.

I am absolutely obsessed with tasting and cooking new and different kinds of food. However, I could also eat Mexican food every day for every meal.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Family, friends, my acoustic guitar, spicy food, good headphones, and my spice rack.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I write songs in my head, all day. It's a problem. They're catchy, though!
