My self-summary
I'm a writer. Took a while to get on this path, but I'm happy about it. I went to college, grabbed a useful degree and found out that I wasn't going to do a thing with it. I should have listened to my five-year-old self and just started working. For now, I'm a self-published author just trying to get to the point where I can pay rent.

Also, I might secretly be a comic book character. Just waiting for an irradiated spider or a healthy dose of cosmic radiation.
What I’m doing with my life
I just self-published my sixth book and I tour around the east coast going to conventions trying to promote all of them. If you're interested in light sci-fi with large amounts of social critique and mythological allusions, you might want to check out Icarus, my first series.

And like I said, I just published my sixth book, which is the final act in a series about the Horsemen of the Apocalypse trying to save humanity. It is a lot more fun than the first series, but they both hold a special place in my heart.

So yeah, writing, waiting tables since writing doesn't support me, and going to conventions is pretty much the gist of it.
I’m really good at
Most things I try. It's cocky and a bit of a conceit, but I have a somewhat unique position. I'm smart enough that I can figure out what I need to do or I can adapt to new situations.

Unfortunately this usually does not lend to mastery, so I'm not really the best at anything. I'm in the middle of my ten-thousand hours for writing, so if we're being nice I can say I'm good at that.

Also, I'm fantastic at Dance Dance Revolution and Karaoke. Any activity solely devoted to looking like an idiot is my forte.
The first things people usually notice about me
I kinda have that crazy author aesthetic going on. Glasses, facial hair, basically just wear jeans and a t-shirt all the time(because it's comfortable).

Though I do go through phases(not right now) where I shave the beard and look five years younger. That's when the dimples come out. I rarely have pictures of this state since I get all embarrassed and shy about it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
As far as books I'll just list authors, because there's really no other way. Anything by George RR Martin (oddly enough not for SoIaF), Dan Simmons, Chuck Klosterman or Neil Gaiman are going to get me excited. I love one-offs like The Devil in the White City or Catch 22, as well.

Movies are an eclectic bunch. Happy Feet or typical Rom-coms are not going to fly, but give me something noir, something funny, something interesting and I'll be golden.

Favorites for TV include Doctor Who, Californication, Community, Dexter, True Detective, Orange is the New Black, Adventure Time(tied with Venture Bros for the best animated show on TV) and Berserk. That last one is a cheat, since I really love the comic more, but that one is influential to my development so I have to include it.

Music is everywhere. Stay away from Katy Perry, Lil Wayne or country and we're golden. I've been known to dabble in pretty much everything. Thrice, The Protomen and The Avett Brothers are three of my favorites, and they're all over the place. Though I will admit that I will always, ALWAYS be a metalhead, but I'm polite about it.

Food is science you can eat. I always want new flavors and I will suffer through a dozen bad meals just to experience a great one. I know I'm not alone in this.
The six things I could never do without
My music, a computer, a white noise machine for sleeping, the next story, my original gameboy, and a towel. Bonus points if you can guess why.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Potential story-lines and scenes for movies, books, video games and comic books. I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but it's true. I brainstorm all the time for the stories I'm writing and the ones I'm just thinking up.

I'm totally fine with that never changing.

Oh, and I obsess over being a failure. Comes with being an artist who still doesn't get paid for his work. REALLY hoping this turns around soon, but I'm starting to resign myself to posthumous fame. Just don't know if that'll work out with the internet culture.
On a typical Friday night I am
Who would suffer a typical anything?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

It's completely immature, but it was way too much fun to make.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 19–30
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For long-term dating, short-term dating, casual sex
You should message me if
-You're in the car, the first notes of a Coheed and Cambria song kick in and you get way too excited to sing along (badly).
-spending a night curled up on the couch marathoning through geeky television sounds like fun
-an interesting conversation is more appealing than the front page of US Weekly

And it should go without saying, but I will talk about writing for hours. It doesn't even need to lead to anything else.
