My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
***Sorry, girls, I'm off the market ***

I'm a writer. Took a while to get on this path, but I'm happy about it. I went to college, grabbed a useful degree and found out that I wasn't going to do a thing with it. For now, I'm a self-published author just trying to claw my way to the top.

Also, I might secretly be a comic book character. Just waiting for an irradiated spider or a healthy dose of cosmic radiation.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I just self-published my seventh book and I tour around the east coast going to conventions trying to promote all of them. If you're interested in light sci-fi with large amounts of social critique and mythological allusions, you might want to check out Icarus, my first series. All the books are right here, if you're curious

The other series is about the Horsemen of the Apocalypse trying to save humanity. If you want to read the first couple chapters for free, just click on the cover here: It's a lot more fun than the first series, but they both hold a special place in my heart.

As for the newest book, it's all about hallucinogens and self-destruction, but it probably has the broadest appeal. We'll see if that actually goes anywhere.

Oh, and here's some goofy, absurdist fairytales I wrote Those should at least be worth the time you spent reading my profile.

So yeah, writing, waiting tables since writing doesn't support me yet, and going to conventions is pretty much the gist of it. Sometimes I have adventures, though not nearly as much as I'd like.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm in the middle of my ten-thousand hours for writing, so if we're being nice I can say I'm good at that.

Also, I'm fantastic at Dance Dance Revolution and Karaoke. Any activity solely devoted to looking like an idiot is my forte.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I kinda have that crazy author aesthetic going on. Glasses, facial hair, basically just wear jeans and a t-shirt all the time(because it's comfortable).

Though I do go through phases(not right now) where I shave the beard and look five years younger. That's when the dimples come out. I rarely have pictures of this state since I get all embarrassed and shy about it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
As far as books I'll just list authors, because there's really no other way. Anything by George RR Martin (oddly enough not for SoIaF), Dan Simmons, Chuck Klosterman or Neil Gaiman are going to get me excited. I love one-offs like The Devil in the White City or Catch 22, as well.

Movies are an eclectic bunch. Give me something noir, something funny, something interesting and I'll be golden. I would be surprised if you've watched more movies than I have.

Favorites for TV include Community, Dexter, Utopia, True Detective, Orange is the New Black, Adventure Time(the best show on TV) and Berserk. That last one is a cheat, since I really love the comic more, but that one is influential to my development, so I have to include it.

As for music, stay away from the likes of Katy Perry, Lil Wayne or country and we're good. I've been known to dabble in pretty much everything. For example, Thrice, The Protomen and The Avett Brothers are three of my favorites, and they're all over the place. Though I will admit that I will always, ALWAYS be a metalhead, but I'm polite about it.

Food is science you can eat. I always want new flavors and I will suffer through a dozen bad meals just to experience a great one. I know I'm not alone in this.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My music, a computer for writing, a white noise machine, the next story, another adventure, and a towel. Bonus points if you can guess why.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Potential story-lines and scenes for movies, books, video games and comic books. I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but it's true. I brainstorm all the time for the stories I'm writing and the ones I'm just thinking up.

I'm totally fine with that never changing.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Who would suffer a typical anything?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!

It's completely immature, but it was way too much fun to make.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
-You're in the car, the first notes of a Coheed and Cambria song kick in and you get way too excited to sing along (badly).
-spending a night curled up on the couch marathoning through geeky television sounds like fun
-an interesting conversation is more appealing than the front page of US Weekly

And it should go without saying, but I will talk about writing for hours. It doesn't even need to lead to anything else.
