I used to be a photographer-ninja back in the day, but I got bit by the teaching bug, and decided that making clay pinch pots, and coloring in rainbows with small children was ultimately more conducive to my mental health than the weekly bloodbath that is free-lance journalism.
I love working with students as they discover how to use a particular medium. I love watching them grow to understand the techniques and possibilities they can use to express themselves. I love telling oddball stories and crude jokes to get kids interested in art history. I love inappropriate humor, non sequiturs, and a goodly dose of sarcasm to get through the day. I love goofing around outdoors, skipping stones, and climbing trees.
STL born and raised. Went to Webster University for photography, and Washington University for Art Education. Currently trying to reteach myself piano and get better at rock-climbing.
