My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a short (5'0 even), partly Asian, partly Italian, person who can be loud more than half of the time and pretty shy the rest. I'm a CEO Catholic...which translates to Christmas and Easter Only. I do find comfort in my faith, but the dogma surrounding a lot of the rituals unnerves me.

Oh, and the priest at my parish looks like Stone Cold Steve sorta freaks me out when he stares at me like he knows everything I've done and is gonna body slam me for wearing the wrong length skirt to Mass. (Seriously, he made a comment during his sermon about proper Church attire and glared at my brother the whole time...he was wearing a T-shirt and jeans.)

I have definite opinions about a number of different subjects, but my favorite things to discuss are biology, science, music, video games, and books.

Family is extremely important to me and the loyalty that can be found between true friends is something that is worth more than the fanciest tech toy or designer handbag.

I have a strange obsession for buying books, shoes, and above-mentioned designer handbags. But I usually can control myself until I've paid all the bills for the past month. Once that's taken care of, I make no promises. :D

My friends and I get together at least once a week now that we're all "adults" and have careers and whatnot. There's a couple of bars we go to that have karaoke and Rock Band Nights that are fun.

Um...what else? I guess you'll have to talk to me to find out! :D

I also have a strange compulsion to have things in sets of 3 or 5. It's not OCD yet, but it's damn close.

*checks out the Personality Tab*

What?! I'm Less Romantic? Um...well...I guess that's sort of true. I'm not saying I don't like romance. Every girl likes romance. But while I'll still appreciate any romantic gestures, a huge part of me will think it's super cheesy.

Example: Don't get me a bouquet of flowers. EVER. A pot of nice, small, easy-to-manage flowers or herbs go over better with me. Or better yet, get me a Chia Pet. :D

I am nerdy, funny, and dorky
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
For the longest time I wanted to become a Biology Teacher...I still want to do that. But for now, I'm working as an LVN (or LPN to those not from California). I work in Pediatrics and I love my job.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm really good at singing and music. I can't remember a time in my life where music wasn't a part of it. I write stories and short poems. I'm also good at retaining information I've read. I don't have a true eidetic memory, but close. The fact that I can close my eyes and visualize the words on a page has come in handy during school.

I like to cook, crochet, needle-point, and other traditional "house-wifey" things. I'm good at it all too. My grandmother raised me to be a wife and mother before my Mother raised me to be an independent "woman of the '90s" so those two parts of my personality clash sometimes.

Oh, and I managed to get a few "Double Fabs" while singing "Do You Want to Know a Secret?" on Beatles' Rockband all by myself.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Well the first thing people notice about me is my short stature. I have really wavy hair that sometimes curls when it feels like it.

When people first meet me, they notice one of two things (and which they notice first actually depends on how comfortable I am with my environment.):

1) I can be EXTREMELY quiet and shy.

2) I can be EXTREMELY gregarious, witty, and sarcastic.

Two very opposing personality traits, but there it is. When I'm comfortable with the place I'm in, the people I'm with, and things like that, I'm the second option.

But in new places, with new people, I tend to go quiet and people watch for a bit before I decide to let my crazy personality shine.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'm a sucker for Romance stories...but to choose a few books? Um...

~Dragonsinger by Anne McCaffery
~The Giver by Lois Lowry
~Black Heart, Ivory Bones by Various Authors

There's a list that the BBC put out of 100 books that people SHOULD read. Apparently, the average person has read about 6 of those books. I've read 56 of the novels on that list. Some I didn't enjoy, but I've read them.

Movies and music are things I can't really name favorites for, since it changes based on my mood at the moment. But there are a few genres I lean more toward.

I can watch any movie by Kevin Smith and not get tired. I also love the movie Empire Records.

With music, I prefer separate songs as opposed to artists. Most of the time, I don't even know who the person singing the song is...I just like it.

But artists I DO recognize and love...

Etta James
Frank Sinatra
Dean Martin
Veruca Salt
Vitamin String Quartet
Stephen Lynch

I've also been listening to a lot of David Choi lately...

As for food...I'll try anything once. But I tend to stay away from overly spicy food and food with lots of dairy in it. Being lactose intolerant causes for some unpleasantness when it comes to dairy.

I love soup though. Seriously...any kind of soup. It'll be a hot 107 degrees and I'll want a bowl of soup.

My favorite quote about beer:
"Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer and alcohol I’ve consumed, I feel ashamed. Then I look into an empty glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their individual hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, someone might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Therefore, I would rather drink this drink and help make someone’s dreams come true than be selfish and worry only about my liver."
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) My family, especially my daughter
2) Music
3) Books
4) My glasses
5) My sense of humor
6) My use of, love, and appreciation for proper grammar and spelling...along with the Oxford comma.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The fact that time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
At home resting up for working weekends. Although my friends sometimes drag me out for a karaoke session.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't drive. A shocking revelation with me living in L.A. but there it is. If you get to know me, I might even tell you why.

You're willing to put in the effort to start and maintain a friendship or relationship.

And you can put together a message that consists of more than 1-3 four word (max.) sentences that speaks only in generalities.

"Hey. You are awesome," is not a message that will gain the attention of many girls.

Just a heads up.

Oh, and if my profile wasn't TL;DR for you.
