Originally from Cincinnati, lived in Indiana for way too long, and now I'm back in Cinci. Nice to be in a place where things actually happen. Don't get me wrong - watching corn grow is all sorts of fun but every now and then you need a little excitement.
I'm a fun guy with a quick wit. I enjoy movies, concerts, playing baseball and soccer, watching basketball (Bearcats), baseball (Reds), and football (Bengals), getting outside and going for a run or bike ride, hanging out with friends, podcasts, lists, board games, surfing the web, reading, exploring, sarcasm, exploring sarcasm, letting my mind wander, being goofy, and any number of other things that I won't drag on and on about here. On a broader scale, I like to travel near and far, try new things, and am always open to and attempting to learn something new (then something else, then something else, and on and on).
What I’m doing with my life
I work as an engineer so during most of my daytime hours I am doing just that. After work and on weekends I can usually be found doing one of the many of the things I listed above. Before work I can be found in bed... I am not big on mornings. I love my sleep.
I’m really good at
I'm good at making people laugh and keeping things amusing. I always have a joke chambered or offhand comment ready to fly. I am also full of random bits of knowledge that are helpful in no way.
The first things people usually notice about me
My youthful appearance.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
As far as TV shows go, some favorites that come to mind are: Arrested Development, The Wire, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, HIMYM, Scrubs, Parks and Rec, The Office, Walking Dead, Trailer Park Boys, Community, Cosmos, Always Sunny, New Girl, The League, Tosh.0, and Modern Family. I have a pretty broad taste in TV - will watch pretty much anything from animated shows like Futurama to documentary series like Modern Marvels and everything in between.
I'm a big fan of film and movies as well - I will watch just about anything from mindless action to big-time oscar-winners and I watch a lot of them. I went to the Toronto Film Festival this year... great time. Cool place. The Life Aquatic is my go-to favorite movie but there are lots of greats out there right alongside it.
In the world of books, I'm currently reading Elon Musk's biography but my to-read list seems to grow by the day. I tend to jump back and fourth between fiction and non-fiction and I'm always looking for new stuff to check out. Gotta mix it up.
Musically, I enjoy and will listen to just about anything from ska to classical. I usually just throw on Pandora radio and randomly pick a station. The Mighty Mighty Bosstones are my favorite band but I'm sure you already knew that. Kinder Words, right?
Foodwise, there will be no onions for me. Beyond that, I will eat almost anything else and enjoy trying new things. Nice and simple.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I tend to think about things I've seen or done, random ideas I am
trying to expand upon, new hobbies that I jump between constantly,
current events, the world, the future, the past, places I want to
visit, and that sort of thing. You know, everything. My mind has a
tendency to wander around all over the place and I don't generally
get in the way.
On a typical Friday night I am
On a typical Friday night I am either out with friends having a good time or in and relaxing with some TV or a movie. Depends on the week, the day, and the mood.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I think Armageddon is a great movie and have seen it far too many times.
