My self-summary
I surround myself with passionate people who are full of ideas because I believe that your environment heavily influences who you are. I also am the type of person who, if they have a sharp object on them, would be sorely tempted to poke holes in things at the grocery store just because. (And by things I mean merchandise, not people. They need their organs. Most of them.)
What I’m doing with my life
Currently, I'm working, being frugal and saving up for courses and adventuring. Fun times.

I keep my sanity in the meantime by grabbing a couple beers with friends, lurking around on reddit, and picking up random hobbies that interest me. Right now, I've fallen head-over-heels over leatherworking and am excitedly waiting for some free time to get into it.

I also enjoy being an impartial realist as often as possible, it's probably one of my more enjoyable past-times next to introspection, philosophical discourse and insomnia.
I’m really good at
Geeking out and ranting about something really cool that's close to my personal interests. Knowledge is pretty neat.

Being somewhat facetious, too clever for my own good and indulging in more than a smattering of sarcasm at times. This culminates in fun past times such as provoking hipster baristas and sending them into existential crisis.

Fixing things. Usually I try not to break them first, but sometimes you just have to take something apart because you want to know how it works.
The first things people usually notice about me
Strangely enough, it's that I have some seriously soft, poofy hair. That or the fact that I'm left-handed.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Genre-wise I'm a lover of sci-fi in most forms (Isaac Asimov is probably my #1 sci-fi author). I seem to transition between bouts of reading on the internet and reading books; both keep me up at night far too long if I'm not careful.

Movies/Shows: Sci fi movies like Gattaca or Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, most comedy (especially British), some anime such as anything by Miyazaki, Corny movies such as Hackers or The FP are great, and the uncommon action movie that scratches the itch, Skyfall and Avengers. For TV shows, I generally get into BBC series.

Music: I mostly prefer all things rock or indie related. NIN, Pink Floyd, Tears for Fears, Talking Heads, The New Pornographers, Arcade Fire, Of Montreal, Supertramp, Rush, Gary Numan, and Nick Drake are a few off the top of my head. Oh, and classical music during the nighttime musing hours is always appreciated.

Food: I love cooking and trying to cook new dishes for others to taste (no, poison control is not on my speed dial). I really have few prefences against food, other than spinach.
The six things I could never do without
1. A computer/the internet.
2. Coffee. There's nothing like the feeling of a good shave and the taste of a fine espresso in the morning.
3. Books.
4. People.
5. My headphones.
6. Being able to admit that I'm wrong and re-evaluating my world views. Life is very stale otherwise.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Solving problems. Figuring out little solutions to little problems is immensely satisfying and makes bus rides, long meetings and other hiccups of time all the more useful and productive.
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing what I do every other night, trying to take over the world! However, my bumbling assistant always seems to screw things over in the most delightfully comical ways.

Usually though, whatever comes along. A couple drinks with co-workers or friends if people are nearby, a movie at home, or tinkering around with something.

You should message me if
You think it's hip to be square. (other n-sided shapes are also just as hip.)

You enjoy philosophical discussions at 3am in the morning with random people on the internet.
