My self-summary Propose an edit

I'm looking for a woman that won't leave me in a bathtub filled with icecubes after taking one of my kidneys. I approach this site with good humor and honesty, and hope you do too.

I love to travel, and my current job allows me to travel a bit, which is great. I've been fortunate to visit a variety of countries, and I lived in Hong Kong for a year and half.

One of my favorite things to do is take road trips, and I'd like to have a partner to come along with me. I enjoy wine and beer (although not to excess), and enjoy visiting the wineries and breweries of the Northwest. I really enjoy visiting the Olympic Peninsula, and try to go there a couple of times a year. I'd like to find a woman who can pack up an ice chest and picnic lunch with me, jump into the car, and head somewhere beautiful.

I'm a big fan of basketball and football, although I'm not the type to paint my chest for a game. There are a few games a year where I'm glued to the tv while the game is on, but it doesn't control my life.

I'm a democrat, and fairly liberal, and am a big believer in social justice. I'm Episcopalian, but I'm not a bible beater. I feel that what's important is what kind of person someone is, not their religious beliefs (if any).

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

I'm a producer for a game publisher in Kirkland. It's a great job, and I love what I do. Part of the time I'm dealing with things from a corporate approach, and at other times I get to play video games and indulge in all sorts of wacky pop culture. Plus, I get to travel on the company dime.

I'm really good at Propose an edit

Since I moved to Washington, I've become a beer aficionado (some might say snob). I'm more hobbyist than lush, and I like introducing people to new beers, and discovering new beers for myself. I know my limit, and don't cross that line.

I really like to cook, especially on the weekends. I find it relaxing and satisfying. My strengths are barbecue and Italian. Since reading The Omnivore's Dilemma, I do most of my shopping at the U District Farmer's Market and the PCC.

I'm a good listener and find that people are comfortable coming to me when they need the ear of a friend.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit

I have a friendly smile and make eye contact with the people around me. I don't try to dominate a conversation or be the center of attention, but can pick up the slack when people are standing around in uncomfortable silence.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

Favorite Books: 1984, Tai-Pan, The Hobbit, Crime and Punishment, Animal Farm, The Omnivore's Dilemma.

Favorite Movies: The Graduate, Godfather 1 & 2, Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, This is Spinal Tap, The Usual Suspects.

Favorite Music: Pink Floyd, Marvin Gaye, Townes Van Zandt, The Police, Bob Dylan, Public Enemy, Bob Marley. Rapper Ice-T once called me a 'bad mutha fucker' while I was beating him at a game of Mortal Kombat.

Favorite Foods: Barbecue, Tex-Mex, Cajun, Italian, New York Style Pizza, cheese.

The six things I could never do without Propose an edit

Family, friends, BBQ, the internet, nature, and holidays.

I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit

Here's a great place to put in a plug for Kiva. It's a site where you can make business loans to small businesses in the developing world. Donors don't make a profit, but it's a good way to help people help themselves. It's an interesting site, and very worthwhile. Find out more by visiting: http://www.kiva.org/about

On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit

Relaxing. That means I'm out doing something mellow with friends, or just chilling out at home.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit

I've never been married or engaged. I don't have a fear of commitment, I just haven't found the right woman, and I'm not willing to settle. I do get the 'nice guy' label a lot, which is a mixed blessing.

On this site I come across as fairly conservative, but on a site like eHarmony I come across as a deviant.

If you're interested in my profile, have some level of attraction to the pics and what I have to say, I'd like to hear from you. It's worth saying that I've joined this site for dating, not simply to find platonic friendships.

I do think physical attraction matters, and prefer being contacted by people who have pictures posted or are at least willing to share pictures. I'm not interested in meeting women that are already in relationships.
