Proudly Canadian girl, I've just moved to Paris to pursue my career as an opera singer. I'm excited to be here but still trying to figure out all the quirks and quarks of living in a new country. And not go the wrong direction on the metro ;) I grew up on the West Coast of Canada and met lots of great people, but never quite had that "click". I’m an optimist and would like to find the same. I strongly believe in kindness. But on the flip side I think well delivered swear words are excellent and I have a fairly wicked sense of humour.

Et oui, je peux parler Français. Ce n'est pas parfait mais je le parle chaque jour et j’espère que ça va être mieux dans une autre mois!

Adapting to my new life! Joyfully able to focus (almost) all my attention on my true passion. Exploring Paris bit by bit. Talking to friends back home. Having those "Yes, I actually live here" moments.

I love Radiohead, Death Cab for Cutie, Jonsi and Sigur Ros (the last leg of my journey here was on Iceland Air and they play Sigur Ros on the airline!), U2 (Joshua Tree has a special place in my heart), Arvo Part, Bach, Mozart, Strauss, Wagner... and a whole lot more. I spend a fair amount of time learning music but balance that with getting friends to introduce me to whatever music they’re enjoying at the moment. Sharing playlists is a great way to get to know someone :)

I don't have a lot of time to watch TV or movies, but Big Bang Theory truly makes me laugh. I enjoy documentaries and also find comfort in Friends re-runs. Oh and Mythbusters! And I'm just starting to get into Californication. Special mention to Monty Python and Eddie Izzard too.

All of the above are made better with: sushi, Thai, Italian, Indian, lattes, white wine, or a gin and tonic with cucumber.

The people in my life.

Nibbling something (usually food, unless I'm with someone special) coffee with a friend, practicing if I'm not too tired, curling up on the couch with some teevee or a movie, or Skyping with friends abroad. Saturday nights are more often dinner and drinks out.

I can't live without cucumber. And not in a dirty way (see above, re: gin and tonic).
