I am deeply in love with words and communication, especially in written form. I have a gentle, slightly insecure, nurturing personality, and I strive to accept and befriend most of those I meet - although even I have limits, being 'only human'. I am Intuitive, Nurturing, and Introverted

Learning to know myself and others, finding my place in the great scheme of things. Occasionally singing praises, occasionally cursing my fate, as emotions fluctuate.

I dropped out of university to take a real good look at myself and this thing called "Life". Currently I'm searching for actual, honest work to make ends meet as I stitch a future plan back together.

Finding the positive and lovable in people I meet, accepting them as they are (unless I'm having a disastrously bleak day and seem to do nothing right). Caring for those close to me. People have told me I've a good eye for colour and harmony. I have also heard I've got a good singing voice, and I am very musical although I can't play any instrument well. I've played the clarinet for six years long, long ago and can find notes and chords on the piano, that's about it. I'm also good at laughing at jokes, even if they aren't the most brilliant stuff..

Ironically, I am also very good at giving off conflicting first impressions, especially on bad days. My best friend thought I was haughty, when I was too shy to approach her at first.

That I'm rather shy and can be a little uncomfortable in crowds. When talking for the first time, if we get along - my smile. It dwells more in the eyes. I'm not a rake-thin woman, which sometimes gets me overlooked by the more shallow end of the populace but in the right atmosphere and circumstances, I think I might look pleasing enough for someone out there. ;)

Books: Terry Pratchett, J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Feist, Huxley and many other classics, scifi and fantasy authors. I love to read.

Movies: Mists of Avalon, Merlin, Babylon 5, the Rome tv series, Farscape series and generally, either historical, romantic, comedy (Monty Python!) or scifi/fantasy titles. I like a movie that makes one think deep or touches on a profound level. The most recent movie I've watched was Eat.Pray.Love - and I loved it.

Music-wise I have a liking for metal, rock, and alternative styles, ranging from Dead Can Dance, Covenant, CMX and Faith and the Muse to things like Dream Theater, The Sisters of Mercy, Opeth, Paradise Lost... ask me if you want to hear my opinion on a band.

Food: wok, vegetables, chicken, kebab, mostly things that are spicy and/or slightly exotic, but I also like Finnish, everyday foods. Recently I've developed a taste for Naan bread, yum!

Oh, what the heck, I guess I could try and form a list here at last. Note - the order is not one of importance but one of association or something fuzzy logical like that. ;)

1. Music. The world needs notes, rhythms, vocalized words and sentences to be beautiful. Sometimes, even silence has a melody.

2. My closest friends, because if you have nobody to turn to, mutually, the loneliness becomes less of a background noise and more of a tomb to enclose you. (Huh, where'd that morbid image come from?)

3. Hope. It's what makes the difference between the bright and the bleak, the drive that keeps the candle lit even in the worst storms.

4. The Bare Necessities, I guess - water, air, Internet connection, electricity, warmth, sleep, sustenance... et cetera et cetera.

5. Freedom - of speech, of choice, any kind of freedom. I was not meant to mold into a predestined frame, it gives me rash. Honestly.

6. Emotion. If you never feel anything, how can you tell that you're alive?

Eternity, the world, myself, metaphysical and metaphoric things. Beauty, peace, and other philosophical issues. Who I am and what I am to be in the future. And whether or not I'm on the right path today.

a) curled up with a book/movie/music while enjoying candlelight musings on something random.
b) bothering a close friend, playing board games, watching movies, enjoying the social contact and company.

Shh... don't tell anyone, but sometimes I catch myself singing the refrain of some song I loved over and over again. *grin*

You're curious/You feel a connection or see similarity/You just want to make friends. I may be quiet at first, don't let it discourage you. There's a distinction between being shocked into silence and being shy though, pick your words with at least a semblance of care. ;)

I'm not that interested in playing games, so if your intention is to deceive and fool around you can certainly find someone else for the purpose.
