My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Looking forward to sharing the second half of my life with someone who is open to a healthy relationship with another adult. I love animals, and hope to have pets again in the future. I am 'pet-free' for the first time in my life, and it is strange. I love to spend as much time as possible enjoying the great outdoors. I usually have my camera with me when I head for State parks, country roads, beaches, and pretty much anywhere near or on water. I kayaked for the first time last summer and hope to have more opportunities for this and other outdoor adventures in the future. Music is also a big part of my life. I am a product of the sixties & seventies so I have a rock n' roll heart. But I love all kinds of music. I became a Parrot Head (Jimmy Buffett/TropRock fan) a few years ago. Have met some really great people through this association. Sharing interests and my great friends with someone special would be nice. I also love to try new restaurants or pubs or cafes, wherever I go.

I am upbeat, easily amused, and friendly.

I would say more, but a gentleman mentioned that when men read profiles they only read the first couple of sentences and then what they read/see is 'blah, blah, blah, blah'. So I am done for now.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Building a freelance photography business. My work is primarily in the Mid-Atlantic region, but I am willing to travel further for the right job. I am involved in volunteer projects throughout the year, along with lots of fun activities as well through my Parrot Head Club. Although my passion is photography, I am also returning to a full time sales position in July (2012); as the economic downturn took quite a bite out of my photography business. Oh well. It will get better in time.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being a friend. Being loyal. Giving and receiving massages. (Hint, hint.) Making people comfortable and amusing my friends.
Photography. (At least that is what I have been told, although I have no formal training.) Perhaps you will have a chance to judge for yourself, as I have a website.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My eyes. My sense of humor. Or the camera in my hands.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Authors: John Steinbeck, Agatha Christie, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Dan Brown, John LeCarre, Janet Evanovich, Stephen King, Nicholas Sparks, Tom Clancy, Nelson DeMille, Robert Parker, and so many more. (I am obviously a reader).
Series: Lord of the Rings & Harry Potter
But, don't worry, I watch TV just like a 'normal' person.

TV shows: Jeopardy, NCIS, The Closer, Bones, Criminal Minds, Law & Order, House, CSI, Psych, Castle, The Mentalist, The Good Wife, Elementary, etc. Wow, I really do need to get out more. Either that or find someone who likes to snuggle on the sofa and relax in the evenings.

Movies: Good Will Hunting, Braveheart, Casablanca, Kramer vs Kramer, The Color Purple, Madagascar, The Goodbye Girl, The Prince of Tides, My Fair Lady, Saving Private Ryan, Yentl, Ghost, Gone With The Wind, Finding Nemo, Pulp Fiction, Sea of Love, The Patriot, Courage Under Fire, Bull Durham, Driving Miss Daisy, The Lion King, My Cousin Vinny, FX, A Fish Called Wanda, Star Wars, The Harry Potter movies and of course, The Lord of the Rings, and so many more. (It is also obvious that I love all kinds of movies).

Music: Rock & Roll (60's & 70's especially), American Folk, Celtic, TropRock (Jimmy Buffett and many others), Jazz, Classical, and most everything in between.

Food: Italian, Asian (Chinese, Thai, Korean, Vietnamese, etc), American, Country French, Mexican, etc......(I was raised to appreciate all kinds of food and to try new things whenever the opportunity presented itself).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
There are the obvious things (air, water, etc), so I will skip those.

1. My Incredible Friends
2. A Camera
3. A Garden
4. Laughter
5. Music
6. And, of course...Love
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
If soul mates really exist, will I find mine before time runs out?

What I hope to do in my retirement (whenever that might be).
Whether I could be a successful art gallery & photography studio owner near or in a beach community.

A dream vacation to New Zealand (and Australia, if time allowed).

Where I will retire (preferably somewhere warm most of the year and near water).

Photographic opportunities for income and my own personal pleasure.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
What is a 'typical Friday night'? One Friday might find me with friends at the beach. And the next Friday could fine me at home reading or watching TV. And, let us not forget playing on the computer.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I miss sharing (great sex, good conversations, and adventures) with someone special.
