I am ready, steady, and go.

My Self-Summary

These things are always a pain...let's see. I would consider myself a nice guy, and I've been told the same by friends and family (though, naturally, they're supposed to say that kind of stuff). I try to do at least one kind gesture a day, just because it seems like the right thing to do. Politically, I'm a lefty. Music is a huge part of my life, both playing and listening. I used to be fairly closed off to music I wasn't already into, but I've gotten more accepting over the years. I don't drive, because it's a drag, but I am licensed to do so. Really I'm just here to meet some cool people, like you!

What I’m doing with my life

I work for an insurance company downtown, which is an absolute blast. Someday I may move on to something a little more interesting, for example, most anything. But in the meantime it pays the bills, which is nice, and the paychecks have gotten me two basses and two guitars, which is sweet.

I’m really good at

I don't know if I'd go as far as "good" but I really enjoy playing music. Bass is my favorite, followed by guitar and drums. Then you have the tough ones: piano and harmonica. I can play them, but with limited success. I'd really love to learn those two, and clarinet. And sitar. And about a dozen others.

I also enjoy photography and collage, though I haven't had a chance to do either in some time. I really hope there isn't a section for interests, because I just typed all that stuff. Let's see what's next, shall we?

The first things people usually notice about me

Ah, this one is next! I suppose my height might be noticable, or my glasses. Maybe my hair...I kind of gave up combing it, though I can't recall why. It's been about a month so far, and while it is a bit everywhere, it's not tangled at all. Thank you, Pantene, for making my life slightly better!

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I really don't read enough, not as much as I'd like anyway, but I thought what we read in school was decent: Catcher in the Rye, Cuckoo's Nest...but not The Postman. That was probably the worst book I've ever read. I also frequent Billboard and NME's website to get all the latest music news.

Movies is another thing kind of like books...I just haven't seen too many. I have a reputation at work for "hating movies" which is probably a bit extreme. I'll watch just about anything, unless it sucks. So profound, eh?

Music is my main thing. I like a lot of different groups, far more than I would like to type out. Newer stuff: Animal Collective, TV on the Radio, Heartless Bastards, Regina Spektor, and many, many more! Older stuff: The Beatles (probably the overall favorite), Hendrix, The Who, Sly and the Family Stone, Janis, and so forth. There are some that stand out a bit: Scott Joplin, Kid Koala, Perry Como, and, sad to admit it, but I do have one Janet Jackson song (because we are all part of the rhythm nation).

Favorite food is probably pizza, or some sort of candy/cookie. I go through phases...currently the treat of choice is Reese's Pieces, though they remind me of E.T., which is no good.

The six things I could never do without

Probably:
1. Ipod
2. Itunes (real creative pick there)
3. Friends
4. Family
5. Guitar (and other instruments)
6. Water (which is both true, and because I enjoy drinking it)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Tomorrow. It's always early when I'm not ready and late when I need it to get here.

On a typical Friday night I am

Practicing with the band I'm in, though we are currently on a break due to my carpal tunnel syndrome. Surgery on July 23rd...wish me luck! And I realize that carpal tunnel syndrome is about the least rock and roll thing, maybe second to calculator watches.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have no idea what to put here. I'm about as open as a person can get, and I don't really have a sorted past or anything, so there aren't really any juicy tales of craziness or awkwardness. Except normal awkwardness, I suppose.

You should message me if

You should message me if you'd like. I will talk with anyone, because I love meeting new people. I will respond to every message, because I think that's just polite, you know? And thus my profile comes to a close. Thank you for reading and take care!
