My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
As a Brit living in San Francisco, I have spent the last 4 years learning that asking for a rubber does not get you an eraser, that a fanny pack is actually a bag and not a surgical operation and the word 'awesome' is a generic adjective that describes a wide variety of emotions.

Some serious stuff. I work for a non-profit fighting climate change in the US. I'm like Al Gore, only slightly hotter...slightly.

When I am not doing that I am out. I am a triathlete and train twice a day. When I say train, I kind of flop about in the pool, sipping mojitos and then take a light jog to the restroom. I go mountain biking and rock-climbing and anything to get me outdoors.

I also play the saxophone, am a photographer, attend improv class once a week and am trying to learn Spanish.

I love learning new stuff and figuring out how shit works. Trouble is I can never remember what I have learned. Metaphorical equivalent of cramming ice cream into a sock.

Trying to get into cooking but English Cuisine does not give you a great head start. Fifty shades of bland really. Yet another gift to the world from a once great empire. Others being, tea, the ability to repress your emotions and binge drinking.

Clearly I have many interests and activities, but I also make time for the important people in my life. Human connection is what it is all about and I am definitely looking for someone to share my many experiences with.

Ideally someone who shares my sense of humor, is very active, capable of indulging in witty banter but also comfortable having serious conversations about politics, movies, current affairs etc etc.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Laughing - a lot. I have lived long enough that I no longer take anything personally or particularly seriously, unless I pick up on the fact that my partner needs me to.

Trying to get a six pack. Can only bloody get four, either I don't have the other two or they are just really good at hiding.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.

Doing things with my face.

Impersonations that all sound the same and also all sound like me.

Quoting top gun.

Actually I can do most things competently and like to collect new skills but I have not yet excelled at anything apart from mediocrity.

Yeah dammit I am really good at being pretty mediocre at a lot of stuff.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My eyes. Howver once people get passed that it is usually that I'm British and kind of a dick, not in a bad way like "that guy is such a dick", but like "oh you dick! that was never gonna work".
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Favorite Movie - Usual Suspects
Favorite Book - Cloud Atlas and anything by Ian Banks
Favorite shows - 30 rock, The Wire, Treme, In Treatment, Boardwalk empire, Game of Thrones. Now totally addicted to Homeland.
Favorite Music - at the moment it is two door cinema club, but this changes frequently as I love my music. Love Jazz, hence the saxophone.
Favorite Food - at the moment is sushi, this city is great for sushi.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Oxygen, A beating Heart, Food, Water, Shelter and some more food.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why do nearly all taxi drivers listen to talk radio, doesn't it just wind you up even further, why not listen to smooth jazz or enya or a meditation cd? Also are they all talking to each other in these bluetooth headsets? Like one big constant teleconferenced therapy session.

Do fish get a cramp after they eat?

Was the song 'once, twice, three times a lady' a song about failed transgender operations?

Also when I die I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming like the passengers in the car with him.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Exposing myself to my neighbors. I actually don't know how to answer this question seriously as my Fridays are pretty varied.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
If I was born a girl my parents would have called me Gwendolyn and;

I have been deported from the US before.
