I am a total nerd, not on fire, and wearing pants.

My Self-Summary

I never know what to say in these things. Maybe something relevant would be a good start.
The last five years of my life feels like a complete waste. Instead of going to college out of high school like I wanted, I joined the military. I'm not saying the military is necessarily a bad place, but it's definitely not for everyone. I would just rather not spend the rest of my life surrounded by alpha males who think they know everything. That, and I really just want to go to school. I want a degree in biology. Evolutionary biology to be exact.

I'm kind of a science geek. I'm a skeptic and an atheist. I can recognize logical fallacies and I don't believe things that are contrary to scientific evidence. I'm THAT kind of geek.

I also read a few comics and I like to play games (board games, video games, role playing games...)

I think staying in shape is important and however you choose to do so is fine as long as you do something. I hate running and generally anything that involves moderate cardiovascular endurance. So I lift weights. And I'm pretty good at it.

I like to do things outside but I haven't had much opportunity mostly due to the Navy taking up my life. I recently bought some hiking gear and fully intend on going on a 2-4 day excursion as soon as I figure out who can go with me and where we should go.

What I’m doing with my life

I just got out of the Navy. I'm currently in a weird transitional spot. I want to go to UW but I have to take some classes at a community college first. Apparently, slacking off in high school follows you even after the military. So here I am, living in the university district of Seattle and not attending the university. It'll happen soon enough though.

I’m really good at

games in general. Debating. Picking out bullshit. Making obscure references. Lifting heavy things. Modifying Nerf guns. Staying up late, reading. Sentence fragments.

The first things people usually notice about me

I don't know. I'm short. Only like 5'2''. And I have short hair. Thats probably the first thing people notice. I smile easy. And I like to make jokes. That's probably the second. Third is that I have a gun and want their money.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I read. A lot. I like to read science books. If I read fiction I usually read something geeky. I like cyberpunk (Neuromancer), sci-fi, and fantasy. I'm currently reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? the comic version. Its only up to issue 4.

I don't really watch movies. Not because I don't like them. I just forget, I guess. I tend to be one of those "that couldn't happen in real life" movie watchers. That may be another reason I don't watch movies anymore.

As far as music goes my tastes have been rapidly evolving. I have given up on radio. If I'm in my car I listen to NPR. I like old 1920's-40's type of music. And classical. My music tastes don't really make sense. My iPhone currently has the following artists:
Eve 6
Everclear
Gary Numan
Jack Johnson
Metallica
Piotr Anderszewski

Food? I like food. I'm learning how to cook. I didn't really do the whole cooking thing until about a year ago. I'm very slowly learning how to do things in the kitchen. I'm currently mastering the art of chicken. It's easy. And yummy.

I've been to a few different countries thanks to my time in the Navy. The most important thing I learned in my time overseas is: I don't really like Asian food. But I absolutely loved Japanese food. It might just be me but Hong Kong, Thailand, Korea, Singapore... horrible food.

The six things I could never do without

1. Internets
2. my iPhone
3. humor
4. web comics (or just comics)
5. a constant and overwhelming sense of my importance
6. oxygen

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Candy.

On a typical Friday night I am

Either at home hanging out playing games or internetting.

Or I go somewhere.

You should message me if

you know how to build a time machine. Or if you have a sense of humor. Or if you live in Seattle and want to show me around. Or if you want to give me a large sum of money. But only if it's a large sum... I can't be wasting my time on medium and small sums.

If you don't fit any of those things... I'm friendly and open to people so you should probably just message me anyway :)
