My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm pretty rad.

I love baseball and the Minnesota Twins. I have a partial season ticket package at Target Field. Baseball gives me warm fuzzies and makes me feel like a kid again. Also, it's pretty much the best sport ever for a stats nerd.

I am definitely a geek. I like sci-fi/fantasy, video games, anime... stuff like that.

My biggest hobby is being a volunteer bench coach and statistician for the Minnesota RollerGirls. Roller derby is awesome! It acts like a magnet that pulls in all sorts of amazing people. I'm very happy to be able to contribute to a growing sport I love.

I'm also kind of an introvert. I can be social, but I generally need time to prepare/recharge.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Trying to figure out what I want to be when I go up, making it up as a go along, [additional clichés], etc.

My current job requires me to sit in a cube farm doing insurancey busywork all day. I like my job, but it doesn't really define me. I work to live, not live to work.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
1. Sleeping
2. Getting distracted by something fun when I should be sleeping
The first things people usually notice about me

I'm not really sure. For some reason I tend to be more reserved when I first meet someone from OkCupid. I'm definitely more open when I meet people in a social setting.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I decided that I need to read more, so I've recently started reading the A Song of Ice and Fire book series by George R. R. Martin.

When it comes to movies, I tend to like a lot of different genres. Here's a random list of some favorites: Shaun of the Dead, Forrest Gump, Clue, Pulp Fiction, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, Jaws, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Fight Club, Office Space, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Monsters Inc., Back to the Future... Too many to name them all.

There are way too many TV shows I like as well. A lot of my entertainment favorites have geek cred. I'm a fan of Doctor Who and Firefly and Game of Thrones and Fullmetal Alchemist and Death Note and Sherlock. I also play video games occasionally. Mostly Nintendo games (but currently playing Hearthstone). I used to play more video games 5-10 years ago. I'm getting old.

For music, I have some pretty specific tastes — I don't listen to a ton of music. A few bands/artists I like: Cake, They Might Be Giants, Weird Al, The Cars, Stone Temple Pilots, Weezer, and The Foo Fighters. I also listen to video game music when I'm working because my brain is conditioned to focus and have fun when I hear it.

As far as getting out of the house is concerned, I like going to Twins games and any roller derby event. Otherwise comedy clubs and bonfires/barbecues are also fun in the summertime. I have a great circle of friends, so there's usually something going on each weekend. I'm not into the bar scene.

I can be pretty introverted a lot of the time, though. That's where Netflix comes in.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
• Humor/Fun
• Friendship
• Love
• Adventure/Inspiration
• Optimism
• An extra life
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How I wish people were more considerate and open-minded, and less focused on their single perspective only. What life should be like and what I want from it. How to make healthy decisions. Whether or not that woman exists who would perfectly compliment me, and how to find her.

Also, baseball and roller derby.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Relaxing after a week of work and watching Netflix, or sometimes hanging with friends. Maybe at a Twins game during the summer.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I have a crappy-looking car that has been the unlucky victim of several random misfortunes, but it still runs well. It's actually kind of crazy. I think it might be cursed, but I still like it.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
—You love life and tend to find the fun in most situations; you have a geeky/silly side and embrace it.
—If you have a good sense of humor and can bring the sass. I'm a sucker for sarcastic banter and playful repartee.
—If you enjoy impromptu adventures like unexpectedly driving to Darwin to see the Twine Ball for no good reason (I have actually not yet done this).
—If you like baseball games on gorgeous sunny days or cool summer evenings.
—If you are OK with the fact that I'm not religious and do not ever plan to be.
—If you're open-minded and accepting of different people and different lifestyles. (Read: If you support marriage equality.)

I mostly just want to live life and be happy. To that end, I'm looking for someone awesome to share in that happiness.
