My self-summary
I love baseball and the Minnesota Twins. I have a partial season ticket package at Target Field. Baseball gives me warm fuzzies and makes me feel like a kid again. Also, it's pretty much the best sport ever for a stats geek.

Speaking of which, I definitely am a geek/nerd/dork, but in a good way. Read: I'm not an over-the-top fanboy lacking social skills or anything like that, but I do like sci-fi/fantasy and video games and and stuff.

I also volunteer as a statistician for the Minnesota RollerGirls. Roller derby is awesome. It opens me up to all sorts of amazing people, and the stats work also allows me to exercise my brain and contribute to a growing sport that I love.
What I’m doing with my life
My job requires me to sit in a cube farm doing insurancey busywork all day. I like my job, but it doesn't really define me. I work to live, not live to work. I also recently joined a crossfit gym to try and get in better shape. So far, the results have been pretty great.

I mostly just want to live life and be happy. To that end, I'm looking for someone to share that happiness.
I’m really good at
2 things: Sleeping, and getting distracted by something fun when I should be sleeping.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm not really sure. It might be my dorkiness or silly sense of humor (if I'm comfortable enough to let it out right away). I would describe it as "concept humor" with a dry delivery. I try to think of things that are cleaver and different, or I intentionally say dumb things if I think it would be funny. It's difficult to explain... —Think of the comic the Far Side, and you've got a good starting point.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Well, there are way too many to list them all. A lot of my entertainment favorites have geek cred. —Things like sci-fi, fantasy, superheros, anime, etc. I'm a fan of Doctor Who and Firefly and Fullmetal Alchemist and Death Note and Sherlock. I also play video games occasionally, Wii/Nintendo games mostly (Currently playing my new Wii U!). I used to play a lot more video games 5-10 years ago than I do now, though. I'm getting old.

I tend to like a lot of different kinds of movies. Here's a random list of some favorites: Forrest Gump, Clue, Pulp Fiction, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, Jaws, Shaun of the Dead, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Fight Club, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Monsters Inc., Back to the Future... Too many to name them all.

As far as getting out of the house is concerned, I like going to Twins games and any roller derby event. Otherwise comedy clubs and bon fires/barbecues are also fun in the summertime. I have a fun circle of friends, so there's usually something going on each weekend. I'm not a big bar/club person, though.

I'm not a big music buff. I don't listen to the radio much, but I do have several bands/artists I like. Some are CAKE, They Might Be Giants, Weird Al, The Cars, Stone Temple Pilots, Weezer, and The Foo Fighters. I also listen to video game music when I'm working because my brained to conditioned to focus and have fun when I hear it.
The six things I could never do without
• Humor/Fun
• Friendship
• Love
• Adventure/Inspiration
• Optimism
• An extra life
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How divisive/negative politics can be, and how I wish people were more open-minded. What life should be like and what I want from it. Whether or not that woman exists who would perfectly compliment me, and if I'll ever be able to find and be with her.

Also, baseball and roller derby.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends or just relaxing after a week of work. Maybe at a Twins game during the summer. I don't have a girlfriend to spend these evenings with, or I would probably be having an awesome time with her.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can't think of anything specific that I want to share on my profile, but I tend to be very open when conversing directly with someone.

I make mistakes like everyone else. I can sometimes be clueless or bone-headed, but other times I can be really insightful or tactful and clever. I'm kinda "idiot savant" like that.

Oh, and Mario Kart makes me swear. A LOT. http://xkcd.com/290/
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 25–38
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
— you are awesome.
— you think I might be awesome.
— you like going to baseball games on nice summer days.
— you have a geeky/silly side and embrace it.

I'm looking for something that is both romance and friendship. I know that no one's perfect, and I'm just looking for the right person who compliments me and makes me want to spend every day with her. I do like the cutesy/fun stuff, but I've learned that I'm most attracted to women with strong personalities who can challenge me with witty banter. I like women with a good sense of humor who can bring the sass.
