intelligent, curious, confident, down-to-earth, funny, self-aware, emotionally mature, driven, considerate, kind, sane, and passionate
I consider some of those traits to be more defining than others, but they're all accurate.
In 2014 I started my own business. It doesn't eat up all of my time, but it's a pretty big pillar of who I am. I have roughly a five year plan that begins with my current internet based business and ends with a brick and mortar retail store in a climate that's a lot more hospitable than Michigan. Location tbd.
I have a remarkable mind for trivia. I'm forever curious about everything.
I have a huge vocabulary and love flexing it.
Math, spelling and grammar.
Taking care of my woman in bed. I'd rather give than receive and I've gotten many positive reviews over the years.
My deep, manly voice. People are routinely surprised by it since such a rumbling bass should not come from a man who's 6'1" and 180lbs. At least once a week someone tells me I should sing/work in radio.
I tend towards more non-fiction than fiction these days because I'm interested in why we humans make the choices that we do, but I love a great narrative regardless of it being fact or fantasy - i.e. Fight Club, Ender's Game, Siddhartha, The Tao of Pooh, Tao Teh Ching, A Brief History of Time, The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Harry Potter, Watchmen, The Tipping Point, Blink, Outliers, The Snowball: The Authorized Biography of Warren Buffett
I love the movies. As in, the experience of going to the cinema. It was something my family did together a lot and I have a lot of fond memories related to it. So, of course, I enjoy movies themselves quite a lot as well. If there's a flaw in my movie tastes, it's that I'm not a huge fan of 'subtle' cinema. I like my movies to give me a very visceral reaction. Whether it's love, sadness, excitement, or fear, I want my movies to make me feel something - i.e. All movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Christopher Nolan's Batman Trilogy, Fight Club, Spider-Man I & II (NOT III or The Amazing Reboot Junk), All X-Men movies, The Boondock Saints, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Memento, Se7en, The Usual Suspects, The Matrix, Ghostbusters I & II, TMNT I & II, A History of Violence, Pleasantville, Garden State, Stranger Than Fiction, American Psycho, The Big Chill, Juno, American History X, Die Hard (A Christmas Classic), Live Free or Die Hard, The Holiday (I love chick flicks with substance), Insidious (Movies can still be terrifying w/out the gore are awesome), Get Him to the Greek
TV Shows: Sons of Anarchy, Dexter, Spartacus, All Star Trek (to varying degrees), Firefly + Serenity, Stewart/Colbert, Dollhouse, American Horror Story, United States of Tara, Game of Thrones, The Following, Gotham, Arrow, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Flash, The 100
Music: Tool, Lamb of God, Rage Against the Machine, A Perfect Circle, Killswitch Engage, Boysetsfire (aka Boy Sets Fire), Unearth, As I Lay Dying, Deftones, In Flames, Nine Inch Nails, Thursday, Slipknot, System of a Down
I appreciate most things that fall under the giant heading of "rock" and I'm okay w/ a fair bit of hip-hop and anything that makes me feel the urge to dance, but there's no appeal to hardcore rap or country for me.
That's only five. I'm very low maintenance, so that's all that comes to mind currently.
-You are self-aware, emotionally and/or existentially
-You like to exercise your brain
-You like metal and going to concerts
-You rank sex among your favorite activities
-You consider yourself to be some kind of nerd (In my experience, that just means you're passionate)
-You skip the small talk when meeting someone. I'm here to make a genuine connection. Small talk is just the superficial stuff you share as you're talking about the experiences and passions that define you.
-You are familiar with board games created in the last 20 years
-You want to share experiences with me. I find most things in life to be more enjoyable when you do them with someone you care about.
