What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have been working for a fairly well known non-for-profit organization since fall of 2007 and as a full time employee since mid-2010. It's generally been a happy experience. I care very deeply about the people I work with and realize that there are a lot of benefits to working where I am that many normal companies simply can't provide. However, one of the problems with office life is that most of the people with whom I regularly interact are outside of my preferred age demographic which is why I'm on here.

I'm also incredibly lucky to be living a short distance from one of the top accredited martial arts schools in the state of New Jersey, and I have been practicing Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do, Muay Thai, and Kali there since 2010.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm good at impressing the people I'm not trying to impress. I'm a problem solver, whether that means assembling something or figuring how something works. I'm generally good at making people laugh. I can imitate voices pretty well; I do a damn good Grover.

I've also discovered through this site that I have a remarkable memory for faces and names. On more than one occasion now, I've come across people on OkCupid I recognize from brief or very tangential encounters in the real world.

I get my fair share of comments about my hair. I've added some photos so you too can bear witness to it.

Books: I've recently been enjoying the Popular Culture and Philosophy series with such names as "Superheroes and Philosophy: Truth, Justice, and the Socratic Way". Before that I read a book about the life of Japanese swordsman Miyamoto Musashi. I only read the first two Harry Potter novels, despite being up-to-date on the movies.

Movies: My "Look at me! I'm classy and smart" answer would be some classic Japanese movies such as the Seven Samurai or Yojimbo. The truth is that I'm a sucker for fun, forgettable summer blockbusters and superhero movies. My favorites include X2: X-Men United, Iron Man, and Batman Begins. I'm picky about comedies, which isn't to say that I don't enjoy them, but nothing is worse than a comedy that completely fails to entertain. I always say that I'm going to get around to watching more "Oscar bait" type pictures, but the truth is that I rarely if ever find myself in the mood to watch something long, engrossing, and typically depressing.

Television Shows: The only series I watch on a weekly basis are Castle and Psych, but I'll stop to watch The Soup, The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report whenever I can catch it. I used to like the series Angel when it was on the air and will still make the odd reference to it when something reminds me of that show.

Food: I'm always open to trying new things. After several years of going to a Hibachi with my friends from college to celebrate the holidays, I recently discovered that Brazilian Steakhouses are amazing. This isn't to say I'm above a simple night in ordering Chinese food though as General Tso's Chicken is one of my favorites.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My situation in life in general. I have a notorious habit of thinking about things in far too large a scope, which can be depressing if you aren't careful about it. I'm happy with the success I've found thus far, but I'd like my life's work to ultimately be more altruistic.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

Whenever I adjust the volume on a television where volume has a numerical value, I try to keep it a multiple of five.
