I love music. I worked in radio for a few years in university- I had a world music radio show, and another show where I only played female vocalists. I love world music, jazz, house, rnb, classical, funk. I have been known have musical vacations- following musicians around to different cities or going to music festivals. All time favourites include: Billie Holiday, Celia Cruz, Fertile Ground, Kellylee Evans, Cocteau Twins, Everything But the Girl( its a high school leftover), Freshlyground, Sade, Zap Mam, Ennio Morricone, Mahler, Mozart. Right now in high rotation: Gregory Porter, Bomba Estereo,Jose James, Nakamara, Quantic and Quadron. Also always exploring new music on Bandcamp, Mixcrate and Grooveshark.

Books I love, hmmm there are too many to mention. But I am really fond of the work of Zadie Smith, E. M. Forster, RK Narayan, Zora Neale Hurston, Natsuo Kirino, Jose Latour,

Food... I'm a big girl.. so yes I do love food. Big fan of cake, soul food, Indonesian and Malaysian. Most of my favourite restaurants and foods are in South Africa. I love cooking and baking. And meat I love a Ribfest.

Shows-- TV, I love to binge watch lately. Right now I am really enjoying: Sons of Anarchy- I had no idea it was so good, Deadwood, The Wire, Treme, Breaking Bad,Line of Duty, Heroes, Misfits, Luther, MI5, Two Broke Girls, The Neighbors.

Movies--I love action and adventure and the occasional tear jerker. I'm not really big on Romantic Comedies. It is a challenge to think of my favourites but there are movies I can watch anytime: Whale Rider, Usual Suspects, any Charlie Chaplin, any James Bond, anything by Luc Besson.

doing one of four things...depending on my week.
I would like to be really sexy and suave and say jetting off somewhere fabulous, kicking off a weekend adventure and intrigue with cocktails.
But more than likely....I am either having dinner with girlfriends, volunteering at something, or attending a community event, working late, or doing shopping and chores so that I can keep the rest of the weekend open for intrigue and adventure...:)

One of the stories my friends beg me to tell is about the time I verbed my noun in a noun. It is funny because I verbed the noun several times before I realized that it was my noun that was verbing the noun.
