I am creative, shy at first, and passionate.

My Self-Summary

What to say, what to say...

Happily married and poly. Trying to make a career of making shit up and writing it down. Since that's not terribly lucrative, I'm running a small knitting business while I wait. I have a moderate obsession with all things Russian. Ditto tattoos and other body mods (although at present I have only one tattoo and one "non-traditional" piercing.)

I love animals. Love. My default reaction to seeing one is to want to hug/pet/kiss/make stupid "d'awww you're so cuuuute!" statements.
This includes animals who may be inclined to think I'm lunch.
I eat meat, though. If you're the type to be offended by that, well... relax. Seriously. --I don't mean to give the impression that I'm a carnivore, though. If left to my own devices I would probably eat mostly veg, but I do enjoy a good bloody hunk of cow every now and then.

I love to travel, and would go anywhere. That said, Niagara Falls and Barnegate Light on the Jersey shore are two of my very favorite places. I adore the ocean full-stop, actually.

I dabble in Medieval reenacting with my local SCA group, and am particularly interested in Novgrodian Russian peasant life. I think that while Renaissance Fairs are fun, when I see people running around in elf ears or those little clay horns they start to feel almost anti-historical.

I should mention that I am NOT looking for one-night stands. To that end, I am also NOT looking for someone to REPLACE my husband. I married him for a reason. And one of the beautiful things about polyamory is that love grows when it's shared more widely.

What I’m doing with my life

Writing a novel and knitting too much.

The first things people usually notice about me

I have been told that people notice, in order:
-my chest
-that I am knitting in public

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Top 5 Favorite Books (this second): American Gods by Neil Gaiman, The Book of Ruth by Jane Hamilton (Oprah had nothing to do with this), To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf, Flannery O'Connor- The Complete Stories, and The Dead and the Living by Sharon Olds.

Top 5 Movies (this second): The Big Lebowski, Snow Cake, The Boondock Saints, Amadeus, and Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels.

Let's not go into music and food right now because it will take too long to type and you'll get bored. My taste in both is very very eclectic.

The six things I could never do without

pen and paper

string

a down comforter

a furry companion (or scaly, for that matter, I suppose. I don't know that lizards enjoy being snuggled as much as I would want to snuggle, however.)

someone to love

library access

On a typical Friday night I am

It really depends. I could be having dinner with friends, or sitting around shooting the breeze, or watching a movie with my husband... There isn't really a "typical" Friday night for me.
