My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm really not that good at breaking the ice, but I'm awesome at keeping the water warm so the ice won't form again. I believe in quality of conversation, not amount of it, so when I talk, I usually am trying to communicate, otherwise I prefer to say nothing before I've thought about it. If you can handle the intensity of quiet moments and the depth of interesting conversations, then look me up!

Sometimes I feel like a Knight Errant: scouring the world for Truth, Adventure, Challenge, Honor, and, of course, Beauty. My friends sometimes perceive me as being a "white knight", but that is not how I imagine myself. I'm curious, intense (sometimes uncomfortably so), imaginative, creative, respectful and forward-looking.

My passions in life revolves around a search for wisdom, understanding, patience, peace, and calm and I find that personal sports like Martial Arts (I practice Tai Chi and Systema), swimming, hiking, biking, help me reach those goals.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
As a linguist, I love languages and culture, and as a philologist I enjoy learning words and phrases. That's why I'm an ESL Teacher at the moment, and why I continue to study Japanese as well as other languages that capture my interest.

I'm involved in a poetry group (music + language = <3) as well as a few geeky groups for computers/tech. I continually try to stay computer-literate and have a deep interest and fascination with programming languages.

I try to travel once a year to somewhere, but I'm not touristy. I prefer to integrate myself into cultural or natural surroundings rather than hop from crowded hotspot to crowded hotspot, clambering over people to get a picture of some thing. I was recently in France, staying with wonderful people (that's why I travel). I was the best man at my best friend's wedding in Rodez! After that, it was Paris, wine, Montpelier, more wine, castles, wine again, Toulouse, and even a short trip to Pamplona for the running of the bulls. Did I mention the wine?

In my daily life I exercise, tutor, and try to enjoy the company of my friends as much as possible. I prefer to be a good friend to a few rather than merely familiar with lots of people. Schedules at the daily level are hard to work around, but I do what I can to meet new people and stay active, socially.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I don't like to toot my own horn or to "sell myself," as business folk say. You'll see when you meet me.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm a bit introverted, quiet, but intense. It can put people off, but it's not my intention; I just look for something to say rather than blurt out anything to start conversation. In fact, I'm not that good at initiating contact, but if you start up, I'll keep it going for hours and hours. I promise you will enjoy it. (:

I'm fairly analytical, rational, and calm. I don't broadcast my emotions / passions for all to see, but they are there, boiling beneath the surface, waiting for expression.

Trust your gut with me, don't let my shy exterior fool you into thinking I'm not interested or I don't like you, don't over-analyse my actions (or inactions); just relax, then I'll relax, and we'll have a great time together.

4. Pen & Paper
5. Exercise/Sport

I spend a lot of time thinking about

On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Working, tutoring, and going home to sleep for more of the same on Saturday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have an uncanny sense of other people's character, so I fall for ones I know I will like quickly and easily, but I don't feel that it's always such a good thing, so it creates conflict and hesitation in me.
