My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm chronically inquisitive, adventurous and open-minded, laid back and fun -- a natural conciliator.

I'm attracted to people who look for and find the unusual, beautiful, and amusing in the everyday and can creatively describe it in words. I gravitate to tall, athletic, professional and kind of smart-alecky men, guy's guys: you know, the kind of man who can playfully make fun of me and be playful physically. Nicknames welcome.

I work freelance and regularly take at least 3 months off a year. I'm serious about making time for a relationship with someone who, like me, has much to share and is looking for real partnership.

Rest assured my kids have a loving, supportive father. I'm not here looking for someone to take care of them; I'm looking for a companion for me. Let's take advantage of what our city has to offer. Together.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Pacing myself; learning to play golf; working on a TV show; planning next adventures here and abroad; these days, dating.

I love to cook, enjoy small dinner parties, am a conduit for conversation with people from all walks of life.

While I'm raising kids in lower Westchester County, I own an apt in Brooklyn and frequently work in the city. It provides the best of both worlds: my cultural-dining life/spirit is kind of city-centered and my parenting life is guided by the myriad outdoor activities readily available year-round. I love to kayak, swim, run and ski. Kind of a dilettante; definitely not a cross fit person or tri-athlete. I'm all about slow and steady.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Bending in interesting ways. I've practiced yoga for 20 years and am thankful for the agility and balance I've cultivated. I also have an impeccable inner GPS; Scrabble; recounting lyrics from summer camp songs; packing a delicious picnic; organizing weekend getaways; intuiting.
The first things people usually notice about me

I'm tall. I have long legs. I must look like I know where I'm going. People stop me in the street to ask for directions. Often.

Just finished Freedom, went through a Philip Roth phase, am forever re-reading The Short Stories of John Cheever and a lot of David Foster Wallace. Love Lorrie Moore, Richard Ford (though didn't like Lay Of The Land), read The Times habitually. As for music, I find myself oddly okay with Pink (who I hear in the car when driving with my daughter), but am relieved that my son is, like me, into any kind of music with a non-electronic beat: Citizen Cope, Broken Bells, Alice In Chains, Eddie Vedder, Fleetwood Mac, Ray La Montagne are in current rotation. We recently saw a great funk band in New Orleans. Made me realize I need to get out to see live music more. Re food, I'm open to any and all cuisines save for Korean. Meat and pickles is just not a broad enough palate.

TV: Homeland, House of Cards, The Wire, Orange Is The New Black

On a typical Friday night I am

Free as a bird since my ex typically has the kids that night.

I harbor a secret fear that the kitchen cabinets could, at any time, fall on my head.
