I think spontaneity and flexibility are the key to happiness. Appreciating the small and simple things in life such as hanging out by the ocean, a nice walk on a Fall day, a good conversation, or experiencing something for the first time, is key for me.

I was born in Africa and have been fortunate to have been able to live in some cool places over the years (New York, Hong Kong, Berkeley, Colombo). I truly love seeing and experiencing new things.

My friends have described me as adventurous, knowledgeable, well traveled, optimistic, open-minded, easy-going, funny, goal oriented, and a great friend.

I guess I am looking for someone who shares some of these similiar qualities.

I am a manager at a bookstore in Pasadena and I absolutely love it. I have found my passion. The constant interaction with people and the constant moving around the store work perfectly with my personality. My dream is to have my own business though one day. I hope to make this happen sooner than later.

I have recently gotten into cooking for myself and others which I find really gratifying. I enjoy the process. Its satisfying to watch people enjoy what i've created. I've also just started taking a sketch comedy writing course in Hollywood just for fun. I've always been told I have a knack for writing so I thought I would give it a shot.
I also enjoy working out and have recently started to take Krav Maga.

I totally run the gamut when it comes to books. I read whatever appeals to me (one of the benefits of working in a bookstore). I just finished The End Of Your Life Book Club by Will Schwalbe. Sounds depressing, but a real bonding story between a mother and son, when she is dying, through a psuedo book club. It was well written and sweet. I am reading now The $100 Startup. See if I can come up with some good ideas for my own business. It is my dream to have my own business one day.
One of my all-time favorite books is Dice Man by Luke Rhinehart.

For movies (and tv), my taste seems to veer to ones that are set in the real world. I like comedies, dramas, and action mostly. A few that I like are Shawshank Redemption, L.A. Story, Big Fish, and Braveheart.

For music my taste is all over the place. If I hear something good I'll listen to it. Some bands that I like: The Roots, Pennywise, Norah Jones, Josh Ritter, Metallica, Adele, Johnny Cash.

For food, My favorite is sushi and, I have to admit, my mom's schnitzel. There is great food in every culture though.

A guilty pleasure of mine is watching those surprise soldier reunion videos on Youtube. I just like watching the raw emotions i guess.
