I am contemplative, talented, and friendly.
My Self-Summary
My name is Bryan, but most call me Bear or LightBear, and that is
my preference.
I'm a radical, pseudo-psychologist interested in ecological grief
work and alternative food systems.
I am contemplative and engaged in a constant analysis of the world
around me. With this, I can be intensely disclosing and
communicative and rarely fight the urge to discuss and
understand.
I'm am not interested in binary value judgments. I'm seeking
compassion and non-attachment, not detachment.
I had a traumatic childhood, which has infused my adult life with a
deep spirituality. I feel a strong sense of
interconnectedness.
I'm unable to turn away from the big picture, and welcome insight
that can reorient my perspective.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm taking a break from formal, agricultural education and working
as the Lead Farm Expert for a local,
urban farming company.
I'm visitting the gym at least 3 times per week to gain strength
and work off some extra pounds.
I'm sort of looking for a peice of land to farm and also trying to
find additional employment.
I’m really good at
Singing,
guitar,
hand drums,
spinning poi, dancing (maybe), counseling, writing, teaching,
song
writing... I think anything is possible and that I can learn to
excel at anything I want to, so the list is neither complete nor
completable. I'll continue learning so long as I'm alive.
The first things people usually notice about me
My sense of humor, my laugh (chuckle), my warm and inviting
personality. Some times people see me as intimidating because I
speak with conviction even though I'm truly open to learn
differently. They may see me as strong willed and talented.
My eyes are nice, and I think I'm cute.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I love spices and home cooked meals. Fish is wonderful. I'm super
appreciative of the tastes of Thailand and Vietnam.
Most of the books I've read are regarding farming, consciousness or
self help. Illusions, Ishmael, The Fifth Sacred Thing,
Permaculture, Gardening at the Dragon's Gate, Tao te Ching, Awaking
from the Dream, The Carpathians, Conversations with God,
Eco-Psychology, Shambhala: the Sacred Path of the Warrior... that
is a few books that have helped form my
consciousness, but certainly not
all and I don't adhere to any one of the philosophies contained
therein. I am also a lover of
text books.
I love melodic, beautiful, powerful music. I like some emo, folk,
rock, classical, contemporary, techno, break beats, trance. Lately
I've been enjoying some house music minus some of the vocal
sampling.
The six things I could never do without
Food, Shelter, Water, Sexuality, Community, Compassion
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Interpersonal dynamics, agricultural or other sustainable
inventions (integrated systems), psychology, totality,
gardening,
Permaculture design.
On a typical Friday night I am
Visitting my lovely friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm willing to admit anything, but I'm not looking to shock, and
what I'd be willing to admit might be taken as such.
Ask me anything.
You should message me if
You want to have a meaningful, deep connection unashamed of who we
are, how we struggle or what we will learn from each other. Message
me if you are a strong communicator who is able to engage in
conflict and confrontation with compassion and a will to produce
positive results: understanding, honesty, love.
