What follows is a little about me; please excuse the bullet point-like format ... unless you dig that, in which case, enjoy!

I enjoy being active and outdoors, but also appreciate a comfy couch, food, a beverage and a movie or a good book. I enjoy fine dining and dinner parties, but I'll also go for a good ol' beer 'n' burgers backyard neighborhood BBQ or dinner with good friends any day.

I am on a foreign / indie film kick right now, so Netflix and I are pretty tight, thought I'll freely admit that movies like Drumline and Save the Last Dance are guilty pleasures of mine.

I love to row. It's "better than a therapist;" I wish I could say it was less expensive! I'll be honest, the past year has really put me through the wringer and I dropped off my own radar. Athletic endeavors are definitely where my competitive side comes out -- for better or worse, but it is a driving force in my life, without which, I have recently come to acknowledge, I am just not the same. Sooo ... back to the weights and water for me!

I love animals -- mostly the warm blooded variety -- and miss having a furry friend to great me at the end of the day. If you have one who is willing to share space on the couch (and in your heart), all the better.

I grew up in a coastal town, so sailing and beach combing are in my blood. Born and raised in Connecticut I am not afraid to speak my mind, and/but/so I like to think that the five years I spent living in the South helped me to become a little more ... diplomatic, shall we say?

I LOVE to travel -- by air, rail, road, dirt path ... whatever. There is so much to see, experience and appreciate in this world. I have been to Mexico, England, Scotland, Wales, Russia, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and did a very short stint (about 4 hours) in Germany. Still on my list: well, just about anywhere, but I would especially like to cross the Canadian border (I lived in Rochester, NY for a year and never quite managed to make the drive) and visit Greece, Italy, Lithuania, India and Croatia -- let me know if you're up for a trip!

I am looking for a caring, mature, established man who has some idea of what he wants out of life and what he's willing to do to get it. Someone who is open to new experiences of all sorts and who is willing to try just about anything once. A quick wit is a plus, but all I require is someone who is down-to-earth (but still maintains some child-like optimism), honest (with himself and others) and open.

I am looking to settle down, but appreciate the importance of not rushing into things so, essentially, I am looking to meet someone with whom I can share some laughs, get out and about and blow off some steam and if it turns into something more ... well, we'll just have to see, won't we?
