My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I enjoy the world around me, and I like to laugh! They say it's the best medicine. I thrive off sunny days, so I love this time of year.

Small disclaimer: I didn't fully remember the words/theme of the Kinks song when I picked this name. Catchy tune, but- oops! It is really hard to come up with a screen name! :)

I really enjoy being active, whether it's eating out, going to a bar for a drink, going on a bike ride or a hike, hosting a game night (Reverse Charades is awesome; you should try it), camping, etc. It's also always nice to stroll through a farmers market, pick up a bag of kettle corn and lounge in the park.

I also savor the opportunities to have a quiet night at home cozied up with someone on the couch, enjoying a homemade dinner with a movie and a glass of wine. This year has seen less of it, but I really like to host game nights, poker nights, fondue nights, taco nights... really any reason to have friends over and feed them and have a good time.

I feel that I have achieved an ideal balance of having my act together, but not taking myself too seriously (I like to have fun!) I strive to be an optimist, with a major lean towards realist. :)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I kind of feel like "what aren't I doing right now"? I indulge in a brunch at least once a month, hit up SF for drinks and dancing to a 90s cover band last weekend, hit up Half Moon Bay recently, went to New York City in May, Tahoe in June, and heading to Vegas again in August.

In general though, I'm working and enjoying life with my friends and family. When I'm out in the evenings, I'm having a drink in Walnut Creek, Oakland or the city. I'm just as inclined to hit the road for a couple hours just to soak up the beautiful scenery (hills, mountains, valleys, the Bay; we live in a beautiful place), or to head to the movies for popcorn and a soda.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
You'll have to tell me. ;)

I most enjoy memoirs, thrillers, and historical fiction. I recently read "Wild..., by Cheryl Strayed" (awesome!) and 11/22/63, by Stephen King (slightly sci-fi, and a little trippy.) Some recent favorites: "The Art of Racing in the Rain", "Replay", and "A Dog's Purpose".

I love the convenience of my DVR. It usually has Criminal Minds, Hollywood Game Night (love games!), Law and Order: SVU (I keep saying I need to stop watching that show; it's gotten worse), and usually a Property Brothers episode. I enjoy going to the movies, but only seem to end up there every two months or so now.

One of my favorite restaurants in SF: Cha Cha Cha (decor at the one in the Haight is cooler!), and I've recently added The Velvet Cantina in the Mission. Favorites in Walnut Creek: Ruth's Chris (their steak is cooked in butter- um, yum!), Fujian (shoot-it just closed), Stanford's. Lemongrass in Martinez is outstanding!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
laughter, my pillow, my IPhone (yes, I said it), my electric toothbrush, sunshine, vacations
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
'being all that I can be'
No, really, and doing right by others.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Grabbing drinks or dinner with friends; I prefer conversation or a game of pool or darts over listening to a loud band. Lately, I've been pretty low-key on Friday to rest up for Saturday daytime activities.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I get comics e-mailed to me daily.
