Other people see me as smart, wickedly funny, and the kind person who will sometimes bring cookies. People all think this is out of the goodness of my heart. I just want to bake but not eat them, and the free love that buys is a plus. I may also be a little odd, but in an interesting way. I'm fascinated by the world and how it operates. I enjoy men who are intelligent, enjoy discussing ideas, romantic and dorky. It's true. My one true love is Roy from The IT Crowd.

When given a chance, people enjoy my company. Many are also often shocked by how very openminded, candid and devious I can be. I am a very sympathetic listener. You will be amazed at how fascinating you are.

I am constantly surprised that people consider some pursuits somehow unsexy. I don't get why D&D, a love of game shows or collecting maps supposedly dooms guys to a virginal life in their parents' basement. Having interests in life is a good thing.

My path has not been a standard one. I was an electrical apprentice for a few years (to everyone's dismay). Now, admittedly becoming a construction worker was not a complete success, but that had more to do with the social structure of the work than me. But most of my coworkers came to respect my work ethic, and I did learn skills that were very unnatural to me. I'm glad I tried skilled labor; I can still wire up a light fixture faster than anyone I know, and learned a lot about what I can do if I push myself. I also have put in time at graduate school and working as an administrative assistant. It's been an interesting journey.

If I'm in a playful mood I am not afraid to make a fool of myself. My favorite color is red, and I am not above singing in public. I don't mean karaoke either. I mean in the hallway.

I am tolerant, sympathetic, and a work in progress.

I was until recently a contractor at Bing. I am incapable of being shocked by just about anything at this point, based on my work. I am spending time with my kid, exercising, and experiencing things. After all, what else is there really? Recent projects include weeding my crap, baking and sewing. I'm taking some classes.

Spelling. Trivia. I am told I am a decent baker. Crosswords. While I am a decent video game player, FPS are not my forte. I like board games but tend to suck at them unless they involve words or trivia. :)

I used to be able to construct grammatically accurate sentences, but apparently I hate commas now. I blame texting.

My twisted sense of humor.

I don't like or dislike anything particularly out of the ordinary. However I am generally openminded and will try most things.

I'm fairly open to most movies. I am fine with subtitles. I used to go to movies just about every weekend but law school and life got in the way. Sometime I would like to do SIFF but I've never had the time or the cash. I am a sucker for comic book adaptations (even though I usually quibble with non-canon details).

My taste in music isn't particularly unusual. Rock of various flavors.

I am not too good for TV. I tend to gravitate towards smart comedy like Community, Newsradio and Futurama, but I also like sci fi. I have a particular fondness for English comedy - Red Dwarf, Spaced, Black Books. I can rattle off every single Dr. Who from William Hartnell to Matt Smith. And that includes Paul McGann even though the movie was crap and actively offended me. Seriously. I love me some Dr. Who. Sylvester McCoy and David Tennant are my favorite Doctors. Recent shows include House of Cards and Elementary (Sherlock is superior but Elementary has grown on me).

Lately I've been reading. I am making an active effort to read new things and stretch my mind a little. I love my Kindle.

I am a reformed comic book nerd. I had a pretty serious addiction to four-color crack. I had to stop cold turkey because of law school - both time and money. I still miss the ritual of going down to my dealer and collecting my box though. Mainstream Marvel and DC stuff mostly. I have been known to make dark rumblings at continuity errors at the movies but I am mostly able to let it go. :)

I like to cook. The Food Network website rocks; most of the recipes I've tried from there have been very, very good. I make a superb apple pie, cocoa to die for, and a very mediocre pad thai. Lately I've been doing a bunch of yeast projects. My croissants are magnifique.

As far as restaurants, I like the standard Seattle fare of Thai, Indian and seafood. I prefer authentic Chinese to American Chinese. Taco vans are the best Mexican. But I'll try most things at least once.

It's amazing what you can do without when it really comes down to it. I would prefer to not live without my Windows phone (although I resisted getting a smartphone for the longest time) my iPod, my Kindle, my laptop, my friends, and the boy. Not in that order.

Everything. I have trouble turning my brain off. I like to deconstruct things, I like to watch sales techniques. I am rarely taken in by advertising. I fall for it but I know perfectly well what they are doing.

I'm wildly superstitious. I suspect it is my way to trying to find patterns in a random universe.

While I do have a nine year old child, I am a part time parent, and in fact you won't even meet him unless things go really, really well and then not for a long time.
