My self-summary
Above all else, I love to laugh. And I love people who can make me laugh my ass off. Those people tend to be smart, quick-witted, good with words, irreverent, and a little vulgar.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a playwright living in Brooklyn.

I'm originally from Phoenix, then lived in Providence for seven years (four years of college at Brown, three years of getting my masters at Brown/Trinity) and moved to New York City in 2011.

I fill my time with theater stuff: acting, writing, going to shows, and getting my fledgling theater company off the ground.

To pay the bills, I do some waitressing and some tutoring. I live in Bushwick, but am moving to Harlem later this year. So excited to have my own place, for the first time in my life!

I also spend a lot of time taking long walks with my dogs. They're two little Shih Tzu mutts I adopted from a shelter. They're kind of badly behaved but I adore them and we're a package deal. Sometimes I feel like a single mom saying, "He's got to love my dogs!"
I’m really good at
Goofing around, sleeping in (that's where I'm a viking!), staying up late and getting others to stay up late, good conversation, small talk, spelling, grammar, reading (I guess I'm good at reading? I read A LOT...) improving awkward situations, improv comedy (four years of it in college), arranging objects in alphabetical order, Scrabble, Taboo, charades, cheering people up, staying calm in chaotic situations, forgiving, talking to my dogs in a ridiculous voice, mimicking, knowing all the lines to my favorite silly movies from middle school (Tommy Boy, So I Married an Axe Murderer, Romy & Michele's, etc.)
The first things people usually notice about me
"You're tall."

Also, I'm usually carrying an enormous iced coffee.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Movies: Sunset Boulevard, Days of Heaven, Vertigo, Blue Velvet, The Piano Teacher, Waiting for Guffman, Best In Show, The Night of the Hunter, Groundhog Day, Persona, All About Eve, The Cook the Thief His Wife and Her Lover, The Lives of Others, The Conversation, Miller's Crossing, Wet Hot American Summer, Tommy Boy, Thelma & Louise

The six things I could never do without
books
laughter
dogs
sunshine (I'm from Phoenix)
beer
something to look forward to
I spend a lot of time thinking about
the man on here who wrote me a message entitled "You Can Shit On My Chest Any Day."
On a typical Friday night I am
Drinking beer, staying in to write, or both.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I had a childhood crush on Riker from Star Trek.

I have a soft spot for soft rock from the early 90's (a lot of time in the car with Mom driving through suburbia)

Sports schmorts. Please don't throw something at me; I won't catch it.

Also, I don't bike. I can, but I don't. Pretty certain that if I tried to bike in New York City I would be killed immediately.
