My Self-Summary

I was born and raised in Chicago, and went away to Carbondale for a college education. I moved back to Chicago about a year ago. I enjoy spending time with my friends, random road trips, riding motorcycles, meeting new people, doing stuff outdoors, etc. I'm pretty much up for anything. I love to laugh and find most things in life amusing, but I can be serious when necessary. I'm an open book, anything you want to know you should feel free to ask. I can be patient if it's required but I like living in the moment and sometimes I have trouble sitting still. I can normally hold my own in an intelligent conversation as long as I feel I'm well informed about the subject matter. One thing I would love to try someday would be stand-up comedy. I play a mean air guitar.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm currently an airplane mechanic at O'Hare, but if someone wants to hand me a super-cool job like radio DJ I'm all for it. I might go back to school for a grad degree in electrical engineering eventually, I'm playing it by ear. Before then, I want to learn a few languages, travel the world, start a small business, climb a mountain, maybe run a marathon and read a few... hundred books. You know, the usual.

Unwrapping starbursts with my mouth. Making people laugh. Incomplete sentences. Living in the moment. Saying the most ridiculous thing that comes to mind at any given time. Listening. Fixing stuff. Going after what I want.

I'm friendly, genuine, open, and not usually shy. Oh, and I'm a tomboy.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

My all-time favorite writers are: Hemingway, Capote, Proust, Dumas, and Camus. Feel free to message me further reading suggestions.

Movies: Harold and Maude, Election, Amélie, Office Space, Beatle Juice, The Sandlot, A Christmas Story, Fight Club, Half Baked, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Better than Chocolate, Singing in the Rain, Juno, Little Miss Sunshine, Quills, Kung Fu Hustle, Napolean Dynamite, Kissing a Fool, Run Lola Run, American History X, Almost Famous, Love & Sex, Mean Girls, and any funny movie, really.

Music: Basically, I listen to everything but Kenny G. Anything you can sing in the car, or the shower. My personal shower favorite is "Why Does It Always Rain On Me" by Travis. Mostly because it's catchy. Lykke Li and Santogold are my favorites right now.

Food: I can appreciate any kind of good food. I can even appreciate bad food if I made it and there's nothing else in the house.
