Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm in Austin for grad school in English [insert joke about lack of
job prospects here]. I love the city, even if I spend most of my
time in coffee shops annoying the other patrons by spreading
library books across a multi-person table.
Because I spend too much of my life trying to come up with elegant
sentences and coherent transitions as it is, I present the rest of
my self-summary as a list, bullet-pointed for your

An English PhD. And yes, I fully expect that in ten years I will be
living in a box. But I will be holding the most beautifully-phrased

also quite good at eating.

Books: I prefer the classics: Harry Potter, Discworld, Good Omens,
and A Song of Ice and Fire. Oh wait, I'm supposed to be literary?
Okay then, err... I maintain that Jane Austen is hilarious and
brilliant. And I bow down before Louise Erdrich and Toni
Movies: Abraxas: Guardian of the Universe, starring the
multi-talented and oft-underclothed former governor of Minnesota,
Jesse Ventura. Also, LOTR, Pan's Labyrinth, and ponderous,
hyper-realist films where all the good characters die at the
Shows: Sherlock, Firefly, Globe Trekker, Father Ted, MST3K, Parks
and Rec, Community, Downton Abbey. I'm now making up for the fact
that I only had 4 channels growing up. Although, in fairness, one
of those channels regularly aired Wishbone and Reading Rainbow,
which is more than I can say for Netflix.
Music: I'm self-conscious about my utter lack of taste in music,
especially since I moved to Austin. But I would overall consider my
taste to be faux-hipster. I like most indie/folky bands only once
they've become popular enough to not be cool anymore.
Food: Anything and everything. I love trying new foods and food
styles, either at a restaurant (or food trailer, this being Austin)
or in the kitchen.
