I try to be nice, but I don't always succeed. If that's not OK with you, don't worry, there are lots of nice people in the world.

Working and enjoying life. I work at an energy efficiency consulting firm, consulting with builders about green building programs such as LEED and BIG and working with public utilities to provide energy efficiency rebates for new home builders. I manage my own (small) department.

Creating things, debating, role playing, writing, insulting, problem-solving. I also like to disrespect your autonomy. It's basically my favorite.

People like to ask about my heritage, most of them being completely unable to tell 'what I am.' It's great watching people try to wrestle with a PC way to ask me about my race. Upon first meeting me, people often think I'm very cold or cruel--until they get used to my sense of humor. It grows on you. And of course people note my height, since I'm pretty short.

At the risk of sounding girly and immature, my favorite book is "The Last Unicorn", by Peter S. Beagle. It's timeless. I also really like the "Song of Ice and Fire" series, though the last 2 books were subpar in my opinion. My favorite movies are "Spirited Away", "Tampopo" and "Hero." The Red Hot Chili Peppers are my absolute favorite band, but I also love OK GO, TOOL/APC, and Cake. That list is always changing. As for food... I love rich, complex flavors like truffle or bone marrow and light, interesting ones like lavender or cardamom. But not raw tomatoes. Ever, ever, ever. ::shudder::

Showers, food, water, shelter, stimulating conversation, and my husband. In no particular order. If there were an option #7, I think I'd have to put video games.
