A faded epitath
marking the last
of the name is . . .
Ignored by all
except an earthen spider
that builds its home
Supported by the stone
and the tall grass
growing next to it.
Only the fine silken thread
of the spiders web
holds this forgotten memory

Are there certain entities, sentient or not, affecting connections? If so, why so.
I THINK I believe in angels, or perhaps entities from another dimension or realm. I try to listen to that soft still voice, the one that says, "take this exit" or "turn right here" when I'm driving. Or is that all merely Bull shit.
And if so, why so.
An interesting tome entitled "The Gift of Fear" warns the reader to listen to the small still voice. Characterized as some unorganized impetus within our brain, something perhaps more spinal than cerebral, this "gift" is a primal protector.
And when the small hairs on the back of your neck rise up like toy soldiers, do we take heed, or smooth them down.
Maybe if it's right it is supposed to be easy; maybe these are only the speed bumps of life, just meant to slow us down.
Someone from the Fourth Estate once told me "Weather is king in Oklahoma". Today I ponder that.
This afternoon, I walked out of a building and felt the pressure in the air, looked up to see the dark clouds gathering.
By the time I got down 6 floors of parking garage, and pulled out into the street, debris was swirling. In addition to the static on the radio, I heard "golf ball sized...", "wall cloud...", "rotation..." but there were no tornados. Just straight wind damage far southeast of my home.
The good news is that this is supposed to break this extremely hot weather! We are in for a "mild" low nineties week and weekend... wow.
BUT there is an improv festival this weekend, so there WILL be laughs!
Today the thermometer in my car hit 110 degrees... surely that was over the top. Then again, at 9:04 this morning, it read 94 degrees. What happened?
My friend said: maybe Fall will come early, since summer surely has. Dare we hope?
Yet last winter, when it was soooo cold, as I wrapped my coat close, I wished for summer warmth. I like the summer rain, even the storms. Love to listen to the thunder, watch the lightning and be in awe of nature.
I used to wish for the next season; no more! The clock ticks by too fast these days, so I am going to embrace each day, whether too hot, too cold or too... whatever. Going to just savor it all.
