My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hey! Nice to meet you. I'm open-minded, smart, and never condescending. People tell me I'm a lot of fun to be around, even though I'm occasionally a brat :).

It's important to me to remove complications and stress from my life. I know people who invite many burdens into their life, and I always wonder why.

I love food. I greatly appreciate fine cuisine, but can also dig into a delicious burrito from Chipotle. I do watch what I eat, and I work out a few days a week. I may be a foodie, but I don't want to get so huge that I implode like a dying nerdstar.

I describe myself as young at heart. I take care of responsibilities, but I can't give up the part of me that looks in wonder at things in the civilized world, the part that drives my passion. It also means I can put up with all the awesome folk on the Internet.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I worked for several game companies, and last year I started my own indie game development company to pursue that life-long dream.

I also entertain myself endlessly, usually with friends around to bear witness.

I have degrees in Genetics and Computer Science, and had fun getting them both. Yes, I sat in the front row in most of my classes.

I'm working on self-improvement, whether through diet/exercise or reading more about philosophy or the world itself.

I own a house and pay my bills on time. If you're hoping to find someone who is ambitious, you've come to the right place :).
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Solving complex problems, giving you a massage, remembering important things, remembering useless things, video games, paying attention to people, being tactful, scarfing down mushroom-swiss burgers.

I can make an awesome steak, good pancakes or crepes, and a tasty margarita!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Either my height, or my eyes, or the fact that I hate shaving and sometimes only do it like once a week...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
These are all abbreviated lists! I have many favorites, but walls of text are liable to cause injury.

Books: The Martian, Ender's Game, Foundation, Flowers for Algernon. I'm a huge fan of well-developed plot twists.

Movies: LotR, Matrix, Star Wars (yes, the trinity). All the Marvel movies. Team America, Bridesmaids, and Austin Powers are my favorite comedies. Big Hero 6 and Incredibles. I love seeing movies, and invested in a nice home theater setup to get maximum enjoyment from them (as well as TV shows and games!).

TV: Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, Flash, Arrow, Downton Abbey, Mad Men, Family Guy, South Park, New Girl, Arrested Development. TV has gotten seriously great!

Games: Zelda, Final Fantasy, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Metroid. Just the tip of the iceberg though :).

Music: older Muse, Moby, Nightwish, Hans Zimmer, Yasunori Mitsuda, Shiny Toy Guns, Infected Mushroom, Metric, Orbital... my favorite music has many layers that all work together to achieve sonic perfection. Apparently I also like modal harmonies. Thank for that analysis :).

Food: I love all kinds. Sushi, a medium-rare filet mignon, or perfectly seared foie gras are always good, and my favorite restaurant is Fearing's in uptown Dallas. I strike a balance between going with foods I've enjoyed before and experimenting with new (sometimes even scary) menu items.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Computers (or internet), movies, central air, games, great food, driving.

Naturally, I'm not answering this in terms of basics like "water" or "family and friends".
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I think about my life, where I want it to go, and where it might actually take me. I strive to put things in place that will allow me to attain new heights of happiness.

I think about the latest plot twist in some show I'm enjoying. Or maybe what to put into my pit barrel cooker next... mmm...

I think about numbers all the time. I form patterns out of words, images, everything. I'm doing that as I type this, wtf!!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Plotting, with fingers steepled and eyebrows furrowed.

If not that, I'm very often out with friends doing something. It could be going out to dinner, seeing a movie at the Alamo, invading a friend's place for beers or wine and playing games, grabbing coffee someplace cool, or going to a late night at the Perot or DMA.

Of course... I'd be remiss not to mention occasionally plopping into my couch and checking out the latest Redbox.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
On here? Probably that one of my all-time favorite animated movies is Frozen. Or that I may or may not own the Blurays of all the Michael Bay Transformers movies, on purpose.
