So, I have a few issues with this economic "crisis." Recently at work a message was sent out that it would be okay to take some voluntary time off (which is unpaid) due to the state of the economy. Then I got an email from my program director at school that the school is charging us ANOTHER $75 additional fee due to the economy. So. Explain to me how depriving me of my much needed income and charging me more and more for school (which is making me a more productive member of society) is helping the economy? Yes, the economy is bad. In my mind, this means I need my money even more now. It does not make sense that they want to push me into the level of poverty!! Sorry. Had to rant.

So they want me to write something here to gain 5% more. Whoo!! Of course, having been put on the spot, I can't think of anything to write.... grr.... Oh! I'll rant about animal abuse! Why not? So I decided around October that I was going to get a dog. I love animals, and I was tired of waiting for the "right time" to get another one. I started checking out the humane society website. I was looking for a big dog, and I was leaning towards a lab since my apartments don't allow the cool pits and rotties. I then get a text message from my brother about some cute little dog that just showed up on my parent's front porch. I figure, hey a free dog, so I say I'll take her. Well, it's Thanksgiving before I get home, and this dog is fairly comfy with my family, but won't come anywhere near me for three days. For the record, I have NEVER had this problem. Children and animals LOVE me. So I bring her home, and she and I slowly bond. I've had her all this time, and she is still so nervous. She is afraid of my roomie and his best friend, and they have never done anything to her. (They are both over 6' and loud, so maybe that's why lol) When I take her to PetSmart, she is in "worry" mode, and she won't take the treats from the cashiers. She doesn't like other people to touch her, and she cowers away from people's hands with her little tail tucked. :( I hate that! How could a person hurt a defensless animal? My dog doesn't even weigh ten pounds, so we are talking totally defensless. I just don't understand how anyone could hurt an animal. They give you love and comfort, and you beat them?! What the hell? Okay, I wrote a journal entry. :)
