I am passionate, philosophical, and inquisitive.
My Self-Summary
I like to spend time
outdoors, even if it's just to go for a
walk. I want to go to the Kentucky Derby one day. I love to read,
but I never have time. I tend to overcommit my time, so I'm always
running around trying to get things done. And I love to travel - I
spent most of the winter in New Zealand, and I want to take a major
trip again next summer. I'm pretty interested in conservation, in
particular protecting endangered species, and I donate to several
environmental charities.

What I’m doing with my life
I have an engineering degree, but it doesn't suit me - I'm getting
certified to teach, and I'll probably get an advanced degree sooner
or later. I bought a fixer-upper a couple years ago, and that takes
up way too much of my time - single people should NOT own a house.
I'm also trying to learn French.

I’m really good at
Finding cool places to visit, board games, school ... and I guess
batting cages, too, because I went the other day and hit better
than anyone else around me, even though I haven't tried for a few
years.
The first things people usually notice about me
I get a lot of comments on my eyes, sometimes on my voice, too ...

My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books - I like to read, so I end up liking most of the books. I
want to read The Horse Whisperer next. Some of my favorites have
been Tracks, The Scarlet Letter, David Copperfield, and The Stars
by H. A. Rey.
Movies - Anything with good acting, which rules out most, but not
all, action flicks. I go to a lot of independent movies, but I also
like some blockbusters like the DaVinci Code and National Treasure.
I also laugh at pretty cheesy comedies like Scary Movie and Beer
Fest.
Music - I like a lot of lighter independent stuff and also 80s
rock.
Food - I'm torn between wanting to stay healthy and loving to eat
ice cream - I think I could eat ice cream every meal. I usually
order seafood when I go out to eat, but at home I fix a lot of
macaroni-and-cheese and other simple things. Once in a while I'll
get ambitious and try to make a gourmet meal.
The six things I could never do without
1. Nature
2. Lake Michigan
3. Family
4. Friends
5. Movies
6. Books
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Decisions I've made and ones I still have to make; the future.
Books I want to read. Endangered species.
On a typical Friday night I am
This summer, probably hanging out at my family's beach house up
north, since I haven't been seeing anyone lately.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I miss my grandmother, who died in 2005, and I still have a lot of
dreams in which she's still alive.
