"How strange it is to be anything at all."

It's hard to pin people down - most especially yourself. Sometimes I live to take risks but at others I shelter myself. I enjoy playing music in front of people, but would rather poke out an eye than give a speech. I can be uncomfortable at a party, but I love to talk to people one on one.

I think the thing that most intrigues me about people is when they live their lives creatively. Whether it is some type of artistic expression or whether it is passion for a subject or pursuit, these are the things that give life flavor. When I find a new band I can go on for hours listening to them - talking about them to anybody who will listen. When I learn or write a new song, it never seems old, even when I play it over and over again. I enjoy losing myself in good story whether its found in a book, a movie, or a tv show. I like experiencing art and thinking "I wish I had thought of doing that!" I like hearing music that inspires me with eagerness - where I can't wait to grab my own guitar and start making something of my own.

I'm looking for somebody who likes to bounce around ideas & experiences. Somebody who knows how to be conscious and appreciates the present moment. A person who knows themselves pretty well, but is always hungry to learn more.
What I’m doing with my life
I work for a good company doing a job that I'm proud to do. I have two really great sons. They're so much fun to be around - I think the world of them am often incredulous that I get to show them how to get along in the world.

One of my favorite activities is riding my bicycle. The times I feel most alive and connected with the world are when I'm on my bike. There's something about not having anything between me and nature that gets at my very core. It feels really primal sometimes.

I like to push myself physically. I try to get to the gym every day for some type of workout. I especially like taking group classes like cross training or cycling.

I can be really quiet. I can be really goofy. I love laughing and making other people laugh. I have a pretty dry sense of humor and find that just about everything is at least a little bit comical.

I recently starting going back to church. I'm Catholic. I'm Buddhist. Mostly I'm just trying to find out what it really means to be walking around in this lifetime. I want to see the world as it really is.
I’m really good at
I like playing music and I like to think I'm pretty good at it.

I like being a dad and I work really hard at making sure I provide my sons with the best environment and tools for living that I can.

I like to cook and will try just about anything in the kitchen.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm pretty laid back and I like knowing other people are at ease. I have a dry sense of humor and can hold up my end of the banter pretty well.

Jolie Holland, Violent Femmes, Basia Bulat, Ezra Furman, Ghost Mice, Defiance, OH, Devotchka, Sleater-Kinney, Rev Horton Heat, The Kinks, Throw Rag, she & Him, Southern Culture on the Skids, Link Wray, Chuck Berry.
