I'm John. I used to have a profile on here, but I missed this crazy
place. So here I am again.
I'm a relatively recent transplant to Lakeland. I moved out here in
July to start my first "real" job with a huge engineering company.
I spent the last 4 and a half years in Miami going to school. Go
Canes! (even though we're cocky and shitty at the same time)
Since I didn't save the profile info I had up here before, I'm
gonna have to start again. There will probably be updates.
I'm a huge car nerd. Mostly imports, Nissans in particular. But if
it can be considered a car, I'm interested in it.
I love to tinker on stuff and figure out how things work.
Sometimes I'm way over-analytical.
I really enjoy cooking, especially when I'm cooking for someone. By cooking, I mean
something more advanced than ramen and frozen waffles.
I really enjoy SCUBA.
I'm into other cultures and I love travel.
I'm a Japanophile.
Drifting is one of the most fun ways to go around corners.
I love movies.
My 360 is a guilty pleasure. Halo and Guitar Hero are readily available,
even though I'm not that great.
Laughing with someone is an amazing way to spend a day.
Cuddling with someone you care about is the best way to spend a
rainy day.
I used to speak Spanish fluently, but I haven't used it for a
while.
I like some anime,
but I will admit my exposure is relatively limited.
Unagi is my favorite sushi.

Working. I have a great job with an amazing company. I'm a
structural engineer.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books:
Harry Potter series (I know). Narnia too. Classic lit like Cooper. Thomas Hardy is one of my most favorite authors ever. But I also really enjoy murder/mystery kinda novels.
Movies:
Way too many to name. Top Gun was always one of my top 10 greatest movies. The Sting (Redford and Newman, so good). LOTR, Star Wars, WALL-E, The Last Samurai, House of Flying Daggers, Pineapple Express, Forgetting Sarah Marshall (especially the vampire rock opera), Monty Python (any of them), Superbad. Seriously, alot. I actually enjoy most chick flicks, too.
Music:
Same deal with movies. I will listen to (and most likely enjoy) anything. M.I.A. to Dragonforce, Metallica to Fergie. Seriously. Pretty much anything. OH! Listen to WILD SWEET ORANGE!!! My cousin is the drummer!

I'm detecting a pattern. I love alot of food. So I'll just say this. I was raised in a house where I was taught to eat anything I was given (within reason). Italian, Spanish, Cuban, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, French, Good Ole American. If you don't want it, I'll probably eat it.
