I am a good listener, patient, kind, and occasionally feisty.

My Self-Summary

Not from L.A., more somewhat 'lala'. Interested in almost anything sci-fi/fantasy, especially Mercedes Lackey for brightness, Neil Gaiman for brooding. I'm a geek, and geek friendly, but don't load me up with programming language or quantum physics. Plays well with others and could do better if applies herself (quoting an ancient school report here) I admire and am in awe at the best that religion provides, and am appalled and disgusted at religion at it's worst. I support Monty Python ' s Graham Chapman view that fanaticism of any form is ugly, but especially ill- thought or uncharitable fanaticism.

What I’m doing with my life

Enjoying my wii - nintendo rocks!!! Lab technician for private veterinary product firm - no we don't test on animals - just have one proven, v. safe product. Have recently discovered LibraryThing - very handy for those with many groaning bookshelves.

I’m really good at

Figuring people out - and not telling them ;) Multitasking

The first things people usually notice about me

Red hair, constantly has a book at hand, oddly quiet, but friendly, and when I let loose - opinionated.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

A)Lots!!! see above B) anything based off a quality comic, or good job done of sci/fi or fantasy writing, also lightweight arthouse/international i.e. NOT depressing. Can recommend 'Black Sheep' and 'The Matador'. C) happy to go along with anything with more than 5 lyrics, so long as 'bitch', 'ho', '(whatever someones going to call their genitals)', or repetative plunky plunking are not part of that list. D) again, my 'ick' list is way shorter. I like spice, but pure chilli heat aint for me, nor are brussel sprouts, and broad beans. No endangered animals, either. I love hearing descriptions of 'perfect' meals - I generally agree.

The six things I could never do without

books, family, friends, my sanity - its been close at times tho :), apples - really!!!, natural green in my landscape.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

improving the world, and how people could be nicer if they would only just.... My follow through is just sad tho

On a typical Friday night I am

Depends... 1/4 fridays I host my friends for a 'geek' night other times I am either zapped with 'fridayitis' and have sagged onto the couch with a wine, cheese& crackers and a book,or I find something online that grabs my interest.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Darn! I'm pretty private. Erm - it's really fun to flirt! and (ahem) I enjoy it. Oh bugger, not going to work here, you'll just have to get to know me to find out what I would have written...

maybe...

nah.

You should message me if

You could stand inane conversation at first, and are more interested in friendship as I'm in a 'lookee, no touchee others' relationship. You have any informed opinions on how a book/comic was written, movie was made, or species of animal was saved. By 'informed' I mean, 'some knowledge of', not necessarily have been part of the creation team. I'm just trying to avoid the ' I've heard such-and-such is crap & so I beleive what I've been told' schtick. You think late30s, chubby red-heads are hot.
