My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
www.LandonDonoho.com

Reading a self summary is liking walking into a persons room or looking at their book shelves. Wonderful for inferences and guess work, but most importantly you can get an almost visceral sense of someone without ever having talked. This self summary is more like a hoarders basement that spans multiple floors with windy hallways. Apologies in advance.

I finished up my degree at scad (art school) for film/video a few years ago, and have since been doing film/video freelance work (music videos, cool films/ads, documentaries, lame corporate commercials, etc) and I love it. I live in a big five person house with some good friends where games and watchings occur often and pleasantly. My room is essentially a hobbit hole and is possibly the coziest place ever.

Things I greatly care about: stories, music, film, art, video games, mythology, cuddling, writing, nature, philosophy, and creatures. I also spend a lot of time climbing, enjoying coffee houses, meeting interesting people, and thinking of/studying generally abnormal things.

Barnes and Noble and I spend lots of time together. I'm not huge on clubs or bars UNLESS they have awesome live music and people who dance even if they suck (this is me). I love music, occasionally try to learn violin, and think adventure time is one of the greatest advents of our time. There are few things I fall in love with more than artisticness, kind heartedness, affinity for geeky things, and intentional open mindedness.

It took a number of years to really hammer out what can attract me in the deep, intrinsic ways everyone wants to find, but I've come up with a fair idea. It happens when someone knows the difference between beauty and basic physical attractiveness; that knows how to love as well as how to be loved; That can laugh with me at random cat/japanese/ridiculous videos and then go hiking/traveling and talk about how awesome life is. I usually find myself most attracted to emotional people, but not weak ones. That, and awesome/weird hair colors. I love people who have a deep affinity for comfortable warm silences, telling stories, laughing, being creative, and people. If you do, you should let me know so I can bug you to hang out.

Also. I make pokemon jokes on a semi-regular basis, and this profile is far too long.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Enjoying creating and moving towards bigger things. When I'm not working on projects, I tend to fill most of my time with books, films, games, and hanging out with friends that feel like family. I've been lucky enough to make a living doing what I love, and I'm pushing towards a place where eventually I can publish books and direct features.

I love stories and the elements you can weave together to tell them, and so I like learning about a broad spectrum of things. Writing's always been my first love, and film has always been fun and challenging because I get to mesh everything I love together (music, art, acting, cinematography, etc) into a strange and awesome medley that flows together. So, yeah, I'll probably be doing that for the rest of forever.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Pokemon Snap.

Also massages. If you are too, you get massive additional points.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Probably the orange cat hair that stands out unfortunately well on my largely black/earth toned wardrobe.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books: I read a lot, and this list is going to be no where near complete. Let's see... Most things by Neil Gaiman, Ender's Game, LOTR/Hobbit, Harry Potter, NAME OF THE WIND (Soooo good, definitely message me if you've read this),Scott Pilgrim (Also so good!), Narnia, Prydain Chronicles, Lovecraft, Game of Thrones, Golden Compass series (His Dark Materials), House of Leaves, Hero with a Thousand Faces, Redwall, RA Salvitore, Neuromancer, Lloyd Alexander, lots and lots more. I really love Khalil Gibran, poetry like A Tree Telling of Orpheus, etc. Right now I'm reading Bone, and I'm thinking it'll probably join the list.

Music would take much too long to list. I love music intensely, and listen to every genre but country. TODAY, as of writing this, I've been listening to Washed Out (kinda like Apparat mixed with ethereal vocals and Tycho) Alt J, and Austra (mix between Florence and the Machine and Marina and the Diamonds). I also love video game and soundtrack music. The silent hill soundtrack and I are good friends.

Movies (impossibly long list, just naming things as they come to mind): Spirited away (and all miyazaki films), Donnie Darko, LOTR, Pirates otc, Fight Club, Gangs of Newyork, Monty Python, Matrix, V, Crouching Tiger, Pan's Labyrinth, Starwars (old ones mostly), Perfume, Nightmare Before Christmas, Alien/s, Disney Animations, Stardust, Cowboy Bebop, Hook, a billion others. Bangarang.

Shows: Dr. Who, Firefly, Sherlock, Game of Thrones, adventure time, anime, tons more.

Food: I was a picky eater for a long time, but over the past few years I've branched out a whole lot. Sushi is incredible. The winner is still hibachi, but pizza and I have a long standing relationship.

Games: (How is there not a section for this?) Final Fantasies, Old school rpg's, Zelda, Mario kart, Smash Brothers (I will beat you at this :]), Halo, Portal, Braid, whatever is beautiful and has an excellent storyline or fun gameplay.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Creative outlets and inputs. My computer and I hang out a lot.

Life Stimulation/challenging things.

Tools (Computer/Camera/Coffee)

People/friends/family

Physical affection

Self awareness
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Lots of things. The sort of life I'm living, as I'm the only one that gets to decide that.

Sex/physical affection (This does not mean I'm going to send a flurry of sexual innuendos and advances at you or immediately make out with your face. Just that I do in general very much like them.)

Where I could find a small loyal/furry companion to chill out in my pockets and hood. Maybe a small fennec fox with biggish ears. It could be wise, yet still playful. That would be good.

I had an hour long discussions today *Not today any more* about who would win between a jedi and a hogwarts wizard. We got very detailed and intricate.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
When you're freelance you kind of forget what day of the week it is... So probably either watching a movie/show, playing a game, hanging out with friends (often who are watching movies or playing games) and hearing people say things like "oh, man, I'm so happy it's Friday!"
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I sing along to Florence and the Machine, loudly, and you will not like it.

You are artistic, kind, loving, geekish, or just a cool person that wants to say hello. Too many people are afraid of life. Stop it. Life is a Tardis, and there is much to explore.

This is at the top, but if you want to see anything I've worked on, there's a lot of stuff here: www.LandonDonoho.com
