My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi, I'm Lap. I'm a fluffy leftie who thinks and talks about getting involved in making the world a better place.

I like: cinemas, bicycles, trains, tea, talking politics and philosophy and films, video games, parks, filtering through traffic, lie-ins.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Mentally rewriting bad film and TV writing. Should probably write a spec script for something.

Cinemas.
Last film I watched: Boyhood. It's good. Go see it.

Thinking about starting my own city. I put this squarely down to SimCity.

I also drive trains for the London Underground and study Philosophy.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm quiet. I am horrendously polite.
Sometimes, though, I get the impression that people think I'm rude. I don't think I am, but it's not really for me to say.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I like films staring/written/directed by Woody Allen, Charlie Kaufman, Wong Kar-Wai, Bong Joon-Ho, the Coens, Julie Delpy, Richard Linklater, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Steve Buscemi, Michel Gondry, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, and Wes Anderson.

Books: here's a deliberately tiny selection (others titles just aren't long enough) -
- Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World (Murakami)
- The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time (Haddon)
Currently reading Moby Dick.
I also read a lot of The Idler magazine.

Utopia is what I'm currently watching and talking about.
Also enjoy Adam Curtis Documentaries. The Thick Of It. Other UK and US shows. Someone recommended True Detective, so going to give that a go real soon.
I also feel inferior watching University Challenge and shouting the wrong answers to Only Connect.

I couldn't pin down any music that I particularly like, but anything that that sounds good whilst riding a bicycle is good. Caravan Palace is good for this. And also Guts.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The social and moral ideas of human relationships.
Mortality.
The thin line between cruelty and honesty.

...Too grim?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Cursing that I work really early on Saturday mornings.
I go to Critical Mass every month - that's a good time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
When I was a kid I wanted to be a spy, like James Bond.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
...you think Ryan Gosling is out of your league.

Also if you ride a bicycle, I like you already.
