My self-summary
1. Hi, I'm Lap.

2. I'm a fluffy leftie who thinks and talks about getting involved in making the world a better place. Still making the same old excuses not to though.

3. When I was in school I was often seen as a loner and a bit weird, two things that I were oddly proud of. I've always been comfortable with my own company and when others wouldn't or couldn't do things that I wanted to do I went ahead and did it anyway. It's what made me go to the cinema by myself when I was 15. For many years I surprised that this was considered an weird thing to do. Since I was 11 I rode public transport aimlessly around London and so I know the city pretty well. I miss hopping on and off Routemasters whenever I please. I cycle around everywhere now, feeling the wind in my hair and smog up my nose.

4. A digestible list of things I like: cinemas, bicycles, trains, tea, talking politics and philosophy and films, video games, parks, filtering through traffic, lie-ins.

5. Out of this list, number 1 is probably the most accurate.
What I’m doing with my life
I like mentally rewriting bad film and TV writing. Should probably write a spec script for something.

Going to the cinema.

Thinking about starting my own city. I put this squarely down to SimCity.

I also drive trains for the Tube and study Philosophy.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm quiet. I am horrendously polite.
Sometimes, though, I get the impression that people think I'm rude. I don't think I am, but it's not really for me to say.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Films: This list could go on forever because I can talk about films forever. Ask me and we can talk about it :)
But just to give you an idea of what I like, I like films staring/written/directed by Woody Allen, Charlie Kaufman, Wong Kar-Wai, Bong Joon-Ho, the Coens, Julie Delpy, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, and Wes Anderson.

Books: here's a deliberately tiny selection (others titles just aren't long enough) -
- Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World (Murakami)
- The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time (Haddon)
I also read a lot of The Idler magazine.

TV: Adam Curtis Documentaries. The Thick Of It. Other UK and US shows.
I also feel inferior watching University Challenge and shouting the wrong answers to Only Connect.

Music: I quite like Jon Brion, Daft Punk, Air, Fiona Apple, Beck, Elliot Smith's version of 'Because', The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, Flight of the Conchords, and Garfunkel and Oates.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The social and moral ideas of human relationships.
Mortality - I will die.
The thin line between cruelty and honesty.
On a typical Friday night I am
Cursing that I work really early on Saturday mornings.
I go to Critical Mass every month - that's a good time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
When I was a kid I wanted to be a spy, like James Bond.
