My self-summary
Hi, I'm Lap. I'm a fluffy leftie who thinks about getting involved in making the world a better place.

I like: cinemas, bicycles, trains, tea, talking politics and philosophy and films, video games, parks, filtering through traffic, and lie-ins.
What I’m doing with my life
Mentally rewriting bad film and TV writing. Should probably write a spec script for something.

Thinking about starting my own city. I put this squarely down to SimCity.

I also drive trains for the London Underground.
I’m really good at
Predicting the future. Not in a supernatural way; forecasting based on past experience, evidence, and balance of probability.
Having said that, I don't play the lottery, and I sometimes regret not putting on a bet.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm quiet. I am horrendously polite.
Sometimes, though, I get the impression that people think I'm rude. I don't think I am, but it's not really for me to say.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like films staring/written/directed by Woody Allen, Charlie Kaufman, Wong Kar-Wai, Bong Joon-Ho, the Coens, Julie Delpy, Richard Linklater, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Steve Buscemi, Michel Gondry, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, and Wes Anderson.

Books: Currently reading The Man In The High Castle for fiction, and Definitions of Gender for non-fiction.

Recently watched and recommend The Bridge (Swe/Dan), and the very brilliant and funny Bojack Horseman (seriously, watching Bojack Horseman if you have not yet seen it)
Also enjoy Adam Curtis Documentaries. The Thick Of It. Other UK and US shows.
I also feel inferior watching University Challenge and shouting the wrong answers to Only Connect.

I couldn't pin down any music that I particularly like, but anything that that sounds good whilst riding a bicycle is good. Caravan Palace is good for this. And also Guts. And Air.
Recently discovered The Walkmans, who I quite like.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The social and moral ideas of human relationships.
The thin line between cruelty and honesty.
The future.
On a typical Friday night I am
Cursing that I work really early on Saturday mornings.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
When I was a kid I wanted to be a spy, like James Bond. So a really bad and sexist spy.
You should message me if
You fancy a chat.
Or you ride a bicycle and lean to the left, albeit not in the same way.
