My self-summary
I'm a painter, waiting tables to pay the bills and navigating how exactly I want my days to look. I'm always up for an adventure, whether its biking to Turtle Pond and skinny dipping at 2 am, or taking an impromptu road trip to Austin. Though I do enjoy the occasional week in the mountains, I'm absolutely a city dweller. I love being surrounded by artists, musicians, writers, cooks, scientists, historians, philosophers, and people who give a damn about what they're doing, even if that's just sitting on the porch, having a beer and pretending like we can see stars through all the light pollution.

ENTJ. (ya I know, a handful)
What I’m doing with my life
I'm figuring out how to balance a studio practice with work and play, finding the space to care about big ideas without forgetting about the little ones too. I've been making big strides in self care lately and have found the focus for health and fitness. It took me a while to know how to care about art, wellness, work, and happiness without being overwhelmed or neglecting a category, but I think I've got it down now and it feels pretty fantastic.

Really though, I spend most of my time riding bikes and bouncing from cafe to cafe to bar to bar with all the friends.

Also, I am moving to Chicago in September. So, if you're only interested in settling down, I ain't the girl for you. The next few years will certainly be transient; I do intend on seeing the world before I have anything holding me back.
I’m really good at
saying yes, getting excited, being on time, knowing the most direct route, remembering names, flipping multiple over-easy eggs, getting flat tires, fixing said flats at record speed, never being shy, adapting to another's humor, being decisive and articulate, and I can dance!
The first things people usually notice about me
I've been told that I'm immediately legible, that the gist of who I am comes through instantly.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Last year was a lot of contemporary philosophy/social psychology and memoirs. I'll always have a soft spot for creative non-fiction. 2013 has been about fiction so far, most recent read was House of Leaves. Reading Kafka on the Shore now, and Cloud Atlas is on deck.

As for movies, I can spend an entire day watching one after another. Some notables are David Fincher, Darren Aronofsky, Christopher Nolan, and Roberto Rossellini. I also have a fondness for super hero movies. 'The Avengers' has a very different niche than 'Bicycle Thief,' but I love them both.

I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to tv shows. I've always loved anything magical and supernatural: Doctor Who, Battlestar, Heroes, True Blood. Some other notables are Sherlock, Game of Thrones, and Adventure Time.

I love music and the wonderful people who make it. I don't know where to begin with favorites, so I'll just say that right now I'm super into Little Dragon, I always love me some gritty blues and rock n roll (give me all a that southern gothic, dirty americana.) Andrew Bird is a brilliant man and I haven't been able to stop listening to James Blake's new album. I also just always, always want to dance, so I listen to a lot of electropop, chillwave, hip hop, booty poppin' goodness.

And as for food! I love to cook, and I'm damn good at it. Going out to dinner may be one of my favorite activities, especially when it's all new, good food. I work in the industry so I'm always learning more and more. I'm also really into spicy food, it's always a plus when I'm out with someone who can handle the heat.
The six things I could never do without
Good company, good food, painting, mi bicicleta, whiskey, and a sweet dance beat
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything. Why the hell I make paintings, sex, expectations and reality, irrationality, social responsibility, how to navigate white privilege and combat racism, oppressive language, gender and femininity, being queer and also normative, truth and conceptual limitations, connecting the right dots and recognizing when they are the wrong ones, how to be more tactful, which cocktail this person is about to order, sex positivity, style, cuties, magic, cats, bikes, travel, time, time travel, everything.
On a typical Friday night I am
There ain't nothing typical about a Friday night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Part of being as extremely extroverted as I am is that I can't keep things about myself very private. I can keep all of your secrets but have no interest in maintaining any of my own.

Here seems like a good place to include a little sexuality info: I am pretty pansexual. Sometimes I think I understand a type that I'm attracted to, but really I never know when those pheromones are going to show up and often I end up surprising myself. I stopped trying to file myself under a category because even if there is a label that feels comfortable for a time, it sure as hell won't stay that way for long.
