My self-summary

I wasn't really aware that you could summarize a person, that's like, reverse personification, objectification I guess would be the term. Here are some more terms to objectify me.

I am irreverent, facetious, insincere, subtle, sarcastic, hilarious, passionate, determined, stubborn, elitist, open minded, honest, human, humane, nerdy, ethical, intelligent, driven, pure, intrigued, unorthodox, confident, courageous, independent, understanding, well read, savvy, creative, vulnerable, interesting, capricious, cavalier, ironic, infallible.

Then again, to call an object most of those things would be to personify it, so now I have just come full circle, which is my favorite.

I also have worry wrinkles in my forehead, or maybe they are laugh lines, depends on my mood. And I find a silver hair every now and then. I think I am going to age gracefully.

What I'm doing with my life

I'm working toward my goal of knowing everything about something. I already know something about everything.

My current job is illustrating a children's book. Sure it sounds fanciful and fun, but I'm developing an unhealthy relationship w/ the main character. I'm starting to talk to the pages, but not until they are done, you can't talk to unfinished pictures, silly.

I am looking for a real job, hopefully one that is still fun, I know it is out there somewhere...

I'm really good at

Saying things, spelling things, doing things. I wish I could say I was good at cooking, I mean, I'm not bad. I am really good at eating though. You have no idea how torturous it is to have such an affinity for steak, and such an insatiable sweet tooth.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

"Hey, you're tall for a girl"

"Woah, is your hair naturally curly?"

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: A Fine Balance, The Brothers Karamazov, My Name is Red, The Death of Vishnu, Lady Chatterly's Lover, Madame Bovary, Women, On The Road, The Fixer, Theories of Modern Art

Movies: Snatch, Superbad, Legends of the Fall, Shortbus, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Moulin Rouge, Donnie Darko, Sleeping Beauty

Music: Brighteyes, Ting Tings, Motion City Soundtrack, We Are Scientists, Brandi Carlile, My Chemical Romance, Beirut

Food: Nutella, Doritos, Ranch Dressing, Oreos, Steak, Kix, Happy Hippos

The six things I could never do without

(in no particular order)

Chapstick (Dr. Pepper Lipsmackers)

Tea (Jasmine or Typhoo)

Blue Moon (or a comparable wheat beer)

Spoons (come on, let's be practical, although someone told me a spork would be more practical)

Friends (mine, not Courtney Cox and David Schwimmer)

Books (especially ones with pictures)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Human emotion and how to explain it, and how frustrating it is that I can't explain it, and how annoying it is that I am subject to it.

On a typical Friday night I am

In NYC with friends, or at home with friends, or just chilling, painting, eating...

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

Sometimes when I listen to my ipod and walking around the city, I pretend it is the soundtrack of my life.

You should message me if

You have a sense of humor and no expectations.

I will not respond to any messages unless your three words that describe you either make me smile, or make me think. Originality and cleverness are key. If you want to chat and actually have something interesting to say, go right ahead. I don't usually even look at someone's profile unless they can hold my interest for more than a minute. If the words "pussy" or "my wife" or "Jesus" are mentioned anywhere in your profile, I'm not likely to respond.
