My Self-Summary
I guess I'm pretty much an average guy, well, the average Irish guy. I like sports (more playing then watching), video games, music, and movies. I work, I have fun, and I'm smart enough to bring fun to work but never work to fun. I have reddish hair and can speak in a brogue. I have a tattoo, a shamrock with a triskele in the middle with its three points filling a leaf each.
Let's see, I was a two sport athlete in college, cross country(was a captain) and lacrosse, I was also a writing tutor, a TA (For a class based on The Simpsons), a RA, acted in a couple of plays, and learned weird skills (at least to me) such as the ability to ride horses.
For the most part I suck at explaining myself, so ask me something and I'll let you know.
Side-note, the 3 adjectives I picked are what popped in my head first, they do describe me, but might not be what most people would say.
I do know some German, but I really suck at it, and oddly enough speak it fluently when heavily intoxicated, kind of weird finding that one out. I'm also learning to speak Gaelic, but it's pretty hard to find a teacher and Rosetta Stone costs too damn much.
As for the infamous "what am I looking for?" question, it's hard to say. Someone I can get along with, similar interests, but enough of our separate ways that we can still amaze each other with what we know/love. I really don't know what else to say since I've always seen it as when you meet the right person you just know, like you don't feel like you're settling with/for someone, but you're starting something new. Hell, if you even understand what I just wrote you may be the one for me.
What I’m doing with my life
I’m really good at
I am good with most video games, puzzles(any type, not just ones you put together), not a bad runner, and I can juggle. I've kind of always been one of those Jack of all Trades types.
I'm usually good at reading people, but when it comes to liking someone or not I always wind up blinding myself to the obvious.
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I can watch any type of movie, my favorite genre is horror though. The Saw series has topped my horror flick list for a while now. Empire Records, Boondock Saints, and The Replacements are a few other movies that I watch quite often.
Music is the same thing, I can listen to just about anything with a good beat and some meaning behind it(even if that meaning is nothing for the sake of nothing), but I have my core usual bands. Bad Religion, Flogging Molly, Incubus, The Sex Pistols, and Rise Against to name a few.
I'm picky with food kind of, I don't like spice/heat for the sake of heat, I like tasting good food. I like italian, american-chinese, and cajun. And cupcakes, they are the superior form of cake, if I could find someone who would rather have a mound of cupcakes rather than a wedding cake, that'd make me happy.
The six things I could never do without
2. My contacts or glasses(seeing and not having things be blurry is a nice thing)
3. My PSP/I-Pod, what can I say, I enjoy entertainment, and not being able to listen to music while in boot has showed me how much it means to me.
4. Beer, Guinness being my favorite, I can do without it though, it's not "needed" just something I enjoy.
5. My lacrosse stick, to explain so I don't seem like some other dumb jock; The Native Americans played baaga'adowe, it was a ritual to celebrate The Creator, to keep peace in the form of a game rather then killing, and to help boys to become men. To me the sticks I've used represent different moments of my life and how I've personally evolved to who I am today.
Wow, hard enough to think of 5, if I meet someone special they'd be on this list, a cop-out, but it works for me.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
On a typical Friday night I am
Now every other week it's either on duty all weekend or able to go out.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
And for being in the military and supposed to be a "tough guy" I had to leave my cat at home with my folks in NJ and I miss the hell out of her. There, something private/embarrassing.
