My self-summary
I'm…a lot of things. A social butterfly and arts enthusiast. A law student. A comedian. A home brewer and fan of classic cocktails. More than anything, I'm a nice, intelligent guy who likes to laugh and listen. Well-educated and ambitious, but I am by no means snobby. A lot of people call me the nicest person they know.

I believe that we should always be learning something in life, so I am constantly cultivating my interests, and seeking new ones to explore. I tend to have fairly obscure academic interests, and I love to ramble on about them. Lately I've been getting really into archaeology and ancient literature, so I frequently give unsolicited opinions on those two things. Of course, I want to learn about whatever is important to you, and you should be willing to rattle away at that. I collect first editions and primary source books from the early 20th century. I'm something of a film buff, everything from silent films to this year's Oscar bait. Of course, I enjoy my talkies as much as anyone else, and you should be eager to go into film analysis mode as soon as we get out of the ten o'clock showing of Dallas Buyer's Club.

I am in my second year of law school and I love it more with each passing day. My plan is to go into either intellectual property/high tech or health law. I am very interested in fair use and regulatory issues. Topics like human gene patenting and rare disease drug manufacturing obligations get my juices going. I'm very active in student government and the law review, but I would have no problem carving out time for the right woman.

Music is a passion of mine. My favorite bands are probably Bloc Party and the Smiths. Right now my iPod is spinning a mish-mash of Broken Bells, Kendrick Lamar, The Decemberists, Tokyo Police Club, and that Liberian song I heard last week in New York. I am also a pretty big Kanye fan. Of course, I can also be seen (or heard?) laughing at the latest Nerdist or Comedy Death Ray podcast, or anything NPR or ESPN put out.

The first thing I look for in a girl is that she is a good person. Intelligence is 1(a). There's nothing I like more than a sophistacted girl who can carry on a conversation.

I like shows, I like bars, but above all I like having a conversation and learning about other people. I can be lively and talkative, but I live for those still, quiet moments in life where you just feel happy and at peace.

Although I'm currently disgusted with the malfunctioning of our political system, politics are important to me, and should be to you. Political science was one of my majors. Even if we disagree, that's 100 times better than one of us not having a stance at all. I can be civil and cool-headed and still get butterflies around you.
What I’m doing with my life
Halfway through law school. I'm currently interning for a high-powered entertainment lawyer. There's a touch of glamour there, but to be honest, most of the time I just read contract revisions until I go cross-eyed.

I recently fell under the spell of that most American of addictions: going to the gym. I go for a couple hours pretty much every day, and have lost forty pounds over the past three months. So, take that information into account when looking at my photos and trying to decide whether I'm JUST good-looking, or ridiculously so.
I’m really good at
Reading, writing, listening, making people laugh.
The first things people usually notice about me
My sense of humor. Oh and the beard.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I'm mostly a history reader, though I've jumped into the world of literature this winter. I was enthralled with This Is How You Lose Her by Junot Diaz, and with A Visit From The Goon Squad. I also read a lot of cultural criticism and humor. Chuck Klosterman and Nathan Rabin are must-reads.

Movies: The Good Shepherd, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford, The Silence of the Lambs (scary, but the most feminist film I've ever seen), Mud, Alexander, Anchorman, Old School, Shark Attack 3: Megalodon.

TV Shows: Happy Endings, New Girl, Community, Boardwalk Empire, The Mindy Project, True Detective, The Americans, Ancient Aliens (it is hilarious), South Park, Mad Men, Cougartown.

Music: Mostly Indie/Alternative and Hip-Hop. Bloc Party and the Smiths are all time favorites.

Food: Italian, American Contemporary, French, Indian, Japanese.

What I'm going to do with myself in the future, history, and what I'm going to learn about next.
On a typical Friday night I am
I fought the law everyday, but by the end of the week, sometimes the law wins. So some Fridays are spent rejuvenating. Other times, I'm out for dinner with friends, and then (more often than not) out to a bar or lounge.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Eww. This is the internet. No thanks.
