My Self-Summary

Summarized? Who can summarize themselves? Um, lets see. I'm a student, that might be a summary within itself. I'm an optimist trapped in a cynic's body. Sarcasm is my favorite pastime, but I promise I'm not mean. I complain a lot, people expect it of me, it doesn't mean I'm angry or dislike something, its just a way of expressing myself. I like cooking, and I love music. Cooking while listening to music is really just foreplay for the act that is eating. Don't judge me, even if eating weren't necessary to live I would heartily lobby for three meals a day. With that said, I forget to eat three meals a day most days. Sue me, I'm a contradiction, I know. But it keeps life so darn interesting!

Other words to describe me:
stuff, some things, orange, polka dots, and Brawndo: It's got electrolytes.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm currently a PhD student with a research assistantship. So my life consists of work/studying for class alternated with lengthy research about Eastern European countries and NGOs. That said, I have no clue what I'm doing with my life. I've been desperately hoping that a career sorta lands on you like the house landed on the witch in the Wizard of Oz, but no such luck so far. I have a love/love relationship with education and spend many hours wondering why I am not getting an Ed.D, when I figure out the answer I'll make sure to send a letter about it via the flying pigs.

I’m really good at

Well, i'm trying to figure that out too...

I'm good at complaining, I know that. I'm also good at being clumsy. Lets see, I think I'm alright at sleeping. Well I was alright at sleeping... Now the amended list includes being good at being awake at all hours of the night.

Oh, before I forget - I'm good at screaming loudly and calling it singing. Yup, can't forget that.

The first things people usually notice about me

I think you'd have to ask them. I don't often encounter myself such that I notice something.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

You're kidding right?! Safe to say: I read, watch, listen, and eat.

Ok, Ok... Recent Book Favorites: The Dark Tower Series (Stephen King), Self Reliance (Ralph Waldo Emerson), Good Omens (Neil Gaiman/Terry Pratchett), The Vampire Chronicles (Anne Rice), American Gods (Neil Gaiman),Letter Concerning Religious Tolerance (John Locke), "The Machine Stops" (E. M. Forster), The Parable of the Sower Series (Octavia Butler)

Movies: Crash, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Lord of the Rings Tower Trilogy (and yes The Two Towers was my favorite), Love Actually, Playing by Heart, Conversations with Other Women, Pootie Tang, Thank You For Smoking, Wedding Crashers, Idiocracy, Tombstone (yes the Western), The Break-Up, the Matrix.

I think I've already said enough about music and food. My parents joke that I've never met a dish I didn't like. I've met many a song I didn't like, but I choose not to discuss those since they remind me of how offended my sensibilities were.

The six things I could never do without

I've changed this list often enough to now just acknowledge that I don't know the answer.

Maybe I'll change the topic - It is now officially the Six things I could definitely do without:

Ignorance, Inconsiderate People, Lima Beans, Headaches, Temperatures below 30 degrees and above 85, and Repetitive Sounds such as the ticking of the hands of a clock.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Everything, and then I stop. Then Everything again because what would the day be without thoughts?

On a typical Friday night I am

Wishing that I didn't have research to do on Saturday; procrastinating. Wondering what I would be doing if I was still an undergrad.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

well... now that didn't work did it?

You should message me if

well I invite you to be the judge of that. Message Away!!
