Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My idea of a good day is waking up to someone I can't get enough of
and saying: "Istanbul this weekend?" Or Sri Lanka. Or Kyoto. You
get the idea. I love old books, yoga, getting lost in new cities,
blues, soul and funk, hard travel to exotic places and hot springs
wherever I can find them. I'm as comfortable trekking over a
mountain as in a suit in a boardroom. I take my work seriously, but
never myself. I live by Emerson's words: Be silly. Be honest. Be
kind. What I'm looking for? An equal (corny. guilty). A funny,
wicked smart, well-read, well-traveled, (very) open-minded,
adventurous woman who laughs out loud and is looking for a
co-conspirator. Someone who would be just as excited about an
opening-night gala at MOMA as piling into a jeep and storming
Burning Man. Someone who would make me smile when I see her coming
my way and take my breath away when I watch her walk away. Someone
with a song in their heart and the devil in their eyes.
“If she's amazing, she won't be easy. If she's easy, she won't be
amazing. If she's worth it, you won't give up. If you give up,
you're not worthy. ... Truth is, everybody is going to hurt you;
you just gotta find the ones worth suffering for.”
“The only calibration that counts is how much heart people invest,
how much they ignore their fears of being hurt or caught out or
humiliated. And the only thing people regret is that they didn't
live boldly enough, that they didn't invest enough heart, didn't
love enough. Nothing else really counts at all.”
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Six is impossible. These are all that came to mind, in no special
Books, the real kind.
Bare feet on grass.
Jazz, especially Bebop and the Blues.
Hard travel to remote places.
Water, especially hot springs.
Dogs. A lot. The big kind.
Yoga. A lot. The hot kind.
Trees. A lot. The big kind, too.
Lakes and canoes.
Japan, especially Kyoto.
My nieces and nephews.
Markets and souqs.
Red wine, the good kind.
Arak, the Lebanese kind.
Dim Sum in Hong Kong.
A Partner in Crime.
Mint, basil and cardamon.
Stargazing in an empty field.
