Besides having a cute accent (from the real deep south, about 8 000 miles South East from here), I am basically a fairly quiet guy but socially very adept, finding pleasure in the small joys of life and trying to mindful about those experiences. Small pleasures - great music, good food, red wine, seeing a dog become so excited that the tail wags the dog, seeing the wonder in a child's eyes as they discover life, a good book or movie, riding my motorcycle and being so aware of my surroundings. I am not a party animal by any measure, enjoying small intimate occasions rather than loud, crowded scenes. Give me a campfire, Owens Fish Camp, local hang out anytime over the best seat in the house at the Ritz.
I am the co-owner of a successful small business and even after more than 20 years of being in my field, absolutely love the creativity and challenges of it. I work hard but believe that we work to live, not live to work. I enjoy the close connection that I can create with clients. That said, I am a private person and can count my real friends on one hand. Having recently moved here, all my true friends are elsewhere.
Kids - two truly amazing personalities, both out of the house (at college). They are the feather in my cap and a constant reminder that goodness truly exist. I have an amazing relationship with both of them.
I love to travel and experience new things (not an adrenalin junkie but did jump out of a perfectly serviceable plane at 11 000 feet! / enjoy my motorcycle but not a biker). But I am just as comfortable at home with a good book, favorite TV show (The Big Bang amongst others), listening to Pandora (Jason Mraz, Bob Marley, YoYo Ma, Classical music, John Lennon, Smooth Jazz, Eric Clapton,The Piano Guys, Jacques Brel, Leonard Cohen, Andrea Boccelli, Genesis, The Foo Fighters - pretty diverse with no love for heavy metal, rap etc)
Religion - I believe in one God and infinite paths to him/her. I am not religious (read organized religion) but rather spiritual. Politically I am a progressive / liberal thinker, detest bigotry and am a pacifist (hate guns after being an officer in the military for 5+ years).
Most importantly, I am NOT looking for a life companion right now - not that I am not absolutely open to a companionship developing into one, but this is where I have absolute trust in the Universe to take care of that. I believe that we are so much healthier when we can share our lives with a close friend, lover, soul mate and that as long as that the relationship is healthy and honoring, it is a good thing. I cherish being with someone that can think and reason but be open minded enough to enjoy and respect different opinions.
Basically a normal guy - although the rest of people look a bit crazy in comparison :-) Can you relate? Please, feel free to contact me and introduce yourself. A wink or a mere hello says more about you than you think, and not in a good way!
