My self-summary
I'm a liberal. That means I'm neither a socialist/greenie/leftie nor a loony right-wing nutter. I care about liberty, individual freedom and free markets.

I'm also a technologist, which means I care about a lot of things most people find rather boring. But I cling on to the view that technology will impact humanity far more than any of us can anticipate.

I like sex positive people who don't think porn is ruinous or that children need to be 'protected' from everything.

I enjoy talking about politics, sex and religion at the dinner table.

I only look at the Herald Sun if I want to laugh. Sometimes it makes me cry though.

In social settings, religious people and I generally don't get along very well.

Some women have called me a feminist; others have stopped at pro-feminist. Yet others think that I am an insensitive capitalist Fascist who is part of "The System/Patriarchy". Personally, I think they are all at least partly right!

I'm in a non-exclusive relationship with two fabulous partners, so if that bothers you, you might want to move on.
What I’m doing with my life
I work hard, love travelling, enjoy the simple things in life like good food and wine, music and good company.
I’m really good at
- Solving world's problems in my head
- Driving in neutral in city traffic
- Not reading all the magazines/books that I buy
- Planning to reform the copyright/patent system
The first things people usually notice about me
My accent. Most people have a hard time guessing where it's from (if you want to have a go, there are a few clues on this page).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
For what it's worth :

Current favourites include: Mad Men, Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire.
All-time favourites include: The Wire, The Sopranos and The West Wing.
Favourite mini-series: Angels in America
Also love British classics like Yes Minister, Monty Python and Black Adder.

Books: I try and read widely, from philosophy to classics to science fiction to comics, and sometimes even biographies.

Generally like the works of Cohen Brothers, Guillermo Del Toro and Pedro Almodovar. All time favourite directors also include Stanley Kubrick and Krzysztof Kieślowski.

As for actors/actresses, I think Ingrid Bergman is the most beautiful woman who has ever lived on this planet, so I've seen everything she's played in!

I Love cheese!
And wine...and coffee... and everything really!
The six things I could never do without
- Teh Interwebz
- Good coffee (lucky I live in Melbourne)
- Engaging, intellectually stimulating conversations
- Sex
- The Economist
- A nice long shower every day. Yes I waste a lot of water, I'm conscious of it, and I'm not willing to change!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to solve the developing world's problems by a combination of technology and microfinance.

What driverless cars would mean for the vast areas of surface parking lots in metropolitan suburbs.

How much more efficient and cheap and profitable aviation would be if every country adopted open sky policies.

You get the idea.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either out enjoying a bottle of wine, or enjoying the same bottle of wine cuddled at home watching a movie; or sometimes doing other things but they also generally include wine in one form or another!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I went through a Spice Girls phase in my early teens.
You should message me if
You enjoy a good conversation over wine, don't like going to movies alone or want a friend to have coffee with in the city.
