My self-summary

Hmmm... Who am I? I guess I'm just a pretty average 25 year old woman. I work a lot, play football, love good music, theater, food, travel, photography, cooking and a boatload of other things. I tend to be very liberal, have trouble comprehending why gay marriage is still an issue in modern society, think religion is funny, scary or both and I hate automatic cars. I can be really competitive and I seldom run out of energy.

Anyway, I'm on here because I find that it is increasingly difficult to meet the type of people I am interested in meeting. I have friends through work and football, as well as friends I have known since I was a kid, and I adore them, but outside of that finding a new person to have an actual conversation with can be difficult. The bar scene is a total waste and something I find myself to be rather sick of. I'll go and have a good time with friends, but I've gotten to the point where I don't even take any new person who approaches me in a bar seriously. People keep replying to my profile and saying that I seem down to earth. I think for the most part that is true; however, I am also very particular about certain things. I'm not the type of person who is going to waste time getting to know someone I really don't have much in common with or to try to fool myself into thinking something can work when I know from the get go it won't.

EDITORS

What I'm doing with my life

I work in commercial real estate, play football on Saturdays, have two of the cutest fluff ball kitty cats ever and I just bought my first house.

I'm really good at

I'm fairly good at a lot of things. I have an ability to learn the basic skills involved with a lot of different things pretty quickly... The problem is that I also get bored easily. I guess I'm really good at cooking, event planning, public speaking and being there when my friends need me.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me

I have no idea.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Jonathan Livingston Seagull is my favorite, but I will read and enjoy just about anything. Last year I decided to live for an extended period of time without a TV. During the 9 months there was no TV in my house I averaged 2 books a week. I could never even begin list all of the books that I love.

Movies: I can never think of an answer to this when people ask....

Music: Mainy alternative and Rock, but I also enjoy jazz, jam band, Sinatra, Justin Timberlake, etc...

The six things I could never do without

Water
Oxygen
Food
a steady place to live
My family
a sense of purpose

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I spend a lot of time thinking about what I want to do with my life. Where I am now is okay for now, but it isn't where I want to end up. I feel as though I am constantly growing towards something, but I don't know what that something is just yet.

On a typical Friday night I am

Either at home reading or watching bad TV after a long week of work or at a karaoke bar singing with some of my friends from football.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here

I still have the tent in my car from my cross country trip 2 years ago just in case I ever feel the need to get away from here for awhile. I know I can't just pick up and leave, but having the tent in my car makes me feel like I can.

You should message me if

you think that we would get along and you are a secure person who isn't prone to jealousy and isn't going to be intimidated by things like the fact that my roommate (and one of my best friends) is a straight guy. I'm looking for people who are self motivated, artistic, caring, straightforward and looking for something realistic. I take care to exercise both my body and mind on a regular basis and I look for people who do the same. If you enjoy playing catch, taking bike rides, jogging by the river, trading books back and forth and going to museums it is very likely that we will get along. As I said in my self summary I am also pretty liberal and tend to be more scientific. If organized religion is an important part of your life or you are a conservative I can't really see us being anything more than friends. I also have no interest in talking to anyone who judges people by the color of their skin or their sexual orientation.

On another note, and I feel ridiculous about having to ask this, but please don't contact me if you are just going to leave some lewd comment, have some self absorbed, posed, half naked (shirtless, showing off your muscles in a bathroom mirror counts as this) picture of yourself on your page, are over the age of 40 or are significantly younger than me.
