Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Political, Humour, Political Humour. Speaking of humour, I'm not normally one for knock-knock jokes but this one got to me:

Knock-knock.
Who's there?
Control freak. Now ask me "Control freak who?"

Movies: Anything from Welles to Chaplin to Tarantino and the Coen Brothers to the Carry On films and the unintentionally comedic Irving Klaw loops (if you know what the latter are then wa-hey and phwoarrrrrr).

Music: Guitarry stuff but not heavy metal. Anything from Rockabilly and the Shadows without Cliff (eurgh) to the Arctic Monkeys. Inexplicably drawn to 70s pub rock. I also very much enjoy classical (Debussy's Claire de Lune is an ever-welcome earworm) and jazz (from swing to bebop to fusion and back) but not that treacley lite tripe that's so bloody Kenny G.

Books: Cookbooks, architecture & design (especially drawn to late 19th-Century industrial-riveted/steam-powered trestle and iron girder design, as well as 20s-50s modern). Would love to see a coffee table book about coffee tables.

Food: Anything with flavour, which sort of rules out much native British cuisine, although once yearly a full English breakfast is a must-have. Love curries, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, Spanish, up for just about anything (food-wise).

The six things I could never do without
My eyes so that's two for a kickoff. Well, one eye is enough I suppose but I don't fancy the pirate look on me and glass eyes never work (which one would you look at?). So ok, that's one down. Music in one form or another. My mobile but I dspise txtng. My hands as they make what passes for music much better than my elbows. Britain as my beloved second home. Finally, my humility despite the previous yammerings.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Legacy...what I will have left behind as a contribution to this big blue marble after my soul or whatever has shuffled off to Buffalo, but enjoying my time here as though I'm not on any sort of deadline.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I see dead people. Lots of them. Wellllll they're dead from their necks up anyway. And they walk amongst us. Ask anyone who voted LibDem thinking Clegg wouldn't surrender their souls to Cameron.
