My self-summary
It's so difficult to sum up 22 years in only one little box!
I was raised in the Chicago suburbs, and I finished a stint in NYC at NYU last year.
I'm a sort of person that doesn't take things too seriously, but I also do enjoy a deep philosophical conversation that doesn't really have any conclusion.
I think the best endings to movies or TV shows are the ones where nothing gets resolved, and you have to draw your own conclusions. (I'm looking at you, Sopranos)
What I’m doing with my life
I work downtown at a law firm. I have a decent career, and I am moving into management. I try to make sure I learn something every day. I am also in the process of applying to law school. I don't know what kind of law I intend to practice. I plan on going where the market needs me.

I also enjoy hanging out around the burbs with my friends, exploring bars and all the little corners of the many Parks and Forests when I'm not in the city. I always cover the tab.
I’m really good at
Trivia, history, conversation, playing little bits of music here and there, writing, and being there for my friends.
Also, surviving the cold. We're having an especially long winter, and I really don't mind.
Solving mini-crises at work. And believe me, there are a LOT of them.
Also, crossword puzzles & thinking out a situation rationally. I'm still a slave to my emotions every so often, though. They'll break anyone no matter how hard you try to keep your wits!
The first things people usually notice about me
Cliche answer, based on what I've seen on this site, but I really would enjoy it if someone told me! I'll populate this box with whatever OKCupiders tell me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I haven't updated this in like two years, and I don't really plan on doing so; please take it with a grain of salt. I think it's a lot more fun to get to know someone's favorites in person or by messaging than by scouring lists.

Wikipedia
My awesome job in the loop, and my window (fire escape) looking out on the city.
Common Sense
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why the Earth has so much saltwater, but not enough freshwater for the people in Africa to drink.

How I can get an even better job. I'm always looking to move up the corporate ladder.

Old friends.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either riding the train home to spend some time with my friends in the burbs, or exploring a new bar or club downtown with coworkers.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I went to a boarding school called IMSA for high school.

You should message me if
You have some idea of what you're interested in, both in life and in men.
You actually took the 3-4 minutes to read my profile. If you just read one section and stammered out something like "ooh i like whiskey tooo", I'll be able to tell.
You have some kind of passion, and you're acting on it in your life; I like to be around people who at least attempt to make goals and attain them. I'm most interested in people who have some drive or ambition in their life.
You have acceptable grammar.
