I try to live lightly on Grandmother Earth.
I use what I have until it is completely gone and I rework old stuff to last still longer.
But I do own and wear my good suits, ties and shoes when appropriate.
New stuff only interests me when it is from Apple or in 1/72 or 1/76 scale.
Or when the new is interesting people.
